I lived in Illinois for the first 22 years of my life and went to ohio multiple times, and yet I still feel like Ohio is too far east and i’m surprised every time I look at a map

Having lived in Ohio for the best part of a decade, I can tell all of you that it isn’t east or west, north or south. It is just where it is at that moment, which is nowhere in particular.

Very timely episode as I had some “do not tumble dry” clothes in the dryer as the last segment was discussed. Just set them aside so I don’t end up like that guy

so your car is insulated from everything else by the tires, which means your car floats at some voltage that's different than the surroundings. if you put the gas container in the bed it floats to whatever voltage the car is at, then when you touch the gas pump you come to local ground. If the voltage difference between your car and the local ground is big enough, you can get a spark, especially given the small distance. So please, put the container on the ground, so that you match local ground.
