Archantael Commission (Patreon)

Finished Sketch Style B with an experimental bg for Archantael.

Artist note: I wanted to approach something different to what I usually do with Sketch Style B commissions, to compensate for the long wait and the ever so patient cilent. I put in the extra effort for the commission. I attempted to do a jungle; I learned a lot during this process but also underwent a couple of difficult moments that challenged my brain to figure out the solution to the image; contrast, and values. It's been a year since I have done a background like this. Looking back to the little studies of backgrounds I did. I somehow just went with the flow.

Initially, I was going for a darker background for the jungle setting, but I couldn’t achieve what I envisioned, so I decided to go with a lighter environment. The armour was very tough to figure out since I haven't done a lot of studies on metal materials and how they react to environmental lightning, etc. So I used some references to help me, yet I still had a difficult time understanding it. But I tried, and that's what matters.
