“We are the hollow men

We are the stuffed men

Leaning together

Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!

Our dried voices, when

We whisper together

Are quiet and meaningless

As wind in dry grass

Or rats’ feet over broken glass

In our dry cellar

Shape without form, shade without colour,

Paralysed force, gesture without motion;”

― T.S. Eliot, The Hollow Men

Iä! Iä! What was that noise? He left his newspaper in the coffee table and took his glasses off. The wood inside the fireplace was crackling. He ran into the kitchen and grabbed a candle. Where was his lighter? He searched his pocket and discovered his metal lighter which he used to light the candle. The wooden boards were cracking as he moved toward the cellar. As he opened the door he heard a muffled weep. He started descending to the cellar…Here is a 2-story house including a small cellar.
