I’m a little curious what you feel is lacking from the background foliage. I’m a bit of a plant guy myself and I think it looks amazing! It’s an interesting sort of excitement to see my favorite hobby mixed into a hot and steamy scene. That caladium is a stand out for sure! As always, the attention to detail in all the elements of your paintings are top tier

Love seeing the image come to life through all the steps. I can really appreciate your talent by seeing those final details being put in at the end too. Wonderful work!

Caternary Games

Don't think I mentioned this before, but the composition - especially aided by the lighting - is absolutely fucking stellar. And the plants don't look subpar to me, they look GREAT! Especially that Monstera - and I would know since I work part-time in a floral department and have to drench those things every week.

I just noticed you had the plants labeled in the second frame. I was “oxalis? No way!” Sure enough! I guess I was too busy checking out the guys to notice before.

I think it's a sense of not having much confidence with it!! when I look at the finished product, it's fine in that I don't think it looks objectively wrong or bad necessarily, but, it also doesn't look very confident or deft. I think that's the sort of thing that makes art fun and engaging to look at, when you can see an artist really mastering the subject matter and "making it look easy". these plants do not achieve that, for me - except maybe the caladium hahah

haha good spotting!!! the monstera gave me the most trouble of any of the plants and I thought it would be the easy one! 😩 I had to repaint it three times, it just wasn't looking right.
