I often think there should be more really famous Australian Urban Legends, because big place with a relatively small population. More tales from drunk ranch hands coming back all ‘nah, I didn’t lose the herd. There was totally, like, an Allosaurus out there or something’. (Like there is Megalania – an extinct lizard like a Komodo Dragon, but the size of one of Mason’s trams – that some people claim to have sighted. Its thought to have gone extinct about 40,000 years ago, so it is possible the first humans in Australia did actually encounter it).
