hello there!

WHY AM I AWAKE.

Oh yeah, because I’ve been finishing your May demo (sorry again for the delay!). One totally wiped & rebooted laptop later, we have a demo of a song called ‘not the end of the world’.

I'll elaborate on the lyrics of this tune & ‘next flight home’ (uploaded on thurs, check it out!) in the coming days. In short this a song I wrote to myself this month when I was a big ball of sadness.

The artwork I’ve chosen is by Natasha Koh (she’s a patron on here, HEY NAT!) she has an insta at @orlathefaces where she draws awesome lil’ things like this. I got to work with her on my new t-shirt design too.. what a legend!

Hope you like the demo! With this one I wanted to challenge myself to use zero guitars. As always please let me know what you think.. enjoy, stream it on here, download and save, do as you pleeeeeease.

LOVE!

i love this!! the idea of looking down on yourself from the sky makes me think like removing yourself from your worries and just seeing how small you are so it really is not the end of the world if what you're worrying about comes true <3 i also love the way you build up the sounds too; u are very talented <3

Love this song, Orla! Sometimes hearing it from someone else means so much more than just telling yourself it's going to be all right. I see you're off to Aquilinaland - I had a few days in Malta last year and absolutely loved the place. Remember the Factor 50 though, we're not built for that much sun!

Geeet out of your own head! These demos are getting better and better I'm so ADDICTED to this new sound. Love when the beat kicks in, but that your production never takes away from your funny/ sad/ realist lyrics.

Brilliant, my friend! Seriously, one of your best works. I love your lyrical phrasing in this ... spilling over the simpler background accompaniment, like water bouncing over boulders in a stream. And of course the sentiment. I know many people who are spoiling their own lives by dwelling on the negative-now and not looking ahead to when things will be better. If there are no downs in life, there are no ups, either. And in general, people who have had deeper downs have greater ups to counter them if they persevere. A little bit like my single (yes! I actually released a single June 1- and I probably have you partially to thank for even thinking of trying). Bam! I'm published (and iTunes spelled my name right the first time!) If you're curious, here's CDBaby's link. It's also on Spotify and iTunes. Me, looking back at where I've been, where I am, how I got here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lt7obH5m3nY

Love the outtro lyrics and the line "sometimes we gotta be told". Great tune! The "night bus" is definitely not a Midwest USA / Ohio thing. Hearing those words makes me think of Gabrelle Aplin's "Night Bus" recent tune. Thanks and great work!! Keep on rockin!
