So I’m on tour and HECKITY HECK. it’s fun.

We are currently one week into dodie’s 6 week tour of Europe & the UK. I’m playing double sets (!!) each night as I’m lucky enough to be supporting as well as playing in dodie’s band. it’s been busy but just the funnest thing & the most rewarding/fulfilling few days I’ve had in so long.

Dodie crowds are not like other crowds - they seem to know my songs which as a support act is NUTS.. they sing, they dance, they jump, they pay attention. They just seem to be the least pretentious, most loving audiences ever & I feel so bloody grateful for a chance to play to them twice each night, in 2 different capacities. :)

The response to ‘why am I like this?’ in particular has been nuts live - hearing each word sung back at me in places like Hamburg & Paris is just the most crazy feeling.. so validating, so cool.

Last night we danced in a v dodgy Irish bar/club in the reeperbahn - we had horrible salty shots and jumped around for hours, then hopped on the bus for tea and then SLEPT as the bus went on the ferry. At 7am a man in sweden came into the bus and shone lights on our faces as he called out our names from our passports. weird times. then we had a service station breakfast & watched A Star Is Born in the bus lounge. dang it that film is important but DARK and I cannot for the life of me warm to Bradley Cooper’s character. hhmmmmmmm.

the travel has been pretty intense & it really does seem to affect me mentally now & then - the journey from Hamburg to Stockholm last night & today was 12+ hours long & prettttyyyyy gruelling.. but we have a rare night in a hotel tonight which means GOOD SLEEP (vs. a sleeperbus sleep) so I’m hoping to refuel & bring big energy again tomorrow night at our stockholm show.

It’s been so cool meeting some secret demo club members along the way - I don’t always have time to say hello at the end but if I know some of you are there I’ll try my best! such a comforting feeling seeing some familiar (and new) supportive faces in the crowd.

SENDING MY LOVE

also - I missed some of the jan rewards for my higher tier patrons - I.E our monthly video hangout & your podcast episode - just a quick note to say IM ON IT & haven’t forgotten, just trying to play catch up in a crazy time. Your demo for this month will be with you as normal, just have to backtrack with the other bits :)) bear with me!

I love hearing about stuff from tour! Makes me remember my stage tech/drama days. Are you supporting the US tour as well? I'd love to see you in October!

You are amazing on stage and I love how you were like “no this is awful we can do this so much better” when we sang the harmonies and how you just said like “Pete is not having a great time” when he messed up your drums haha. We had so much fun!

Will try my best to come out, usually depends on the venue and how many are lingering but trying to come out when I can ❤️

Chloé Miettes

Paris was so cool ! Love your set so much ! Feeling very lucky to see you sing ♥

Carolin Malmendier

I saw you in cologne on valentines day, it was amazing and I met some cool people there!! :) during the cello solo some guy in the audience yelled "sie spielte cello!!!" and everyone laughed.. probably seemed a bit rude. it was a reference to a very melodramtic german song though (cello by udo lindenberg) Just in case any of you were confused by that :D

Hi Orla! Hope you will enjoy Warsaw, my sweet home town. Will there be any occasion to say hi to you during the concert? It would be delightful! // EDIT: You were SUPERAWESOME, like a freaking ROCKSTAR. really, if you weren't a singer, that would be the biggest loss to humanity, love you, waitin' for your solo gig in Warsaw, i will definitely come & tell all my friends about it! I've heard many people from the audience saying 'i didn't know her before, but she's so amazing, I will follow her from now on!' so I hope they will, because you deserve it THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL TIME

Oh my god, I'm literally craying. I can't believe I have a chance to hear all my favourite singers in one night. You and Dodie and u of course. I don't see anything because of the tears
