art challenge: 'are you on your own tonight?' (Patreon)

HEY SDC.

I'm bringing back the art challenges! ('challenge' feels better than 'competition' as it's really more about taking part & celebrating all of the different pieces!)

We did some of these for songs last year and I really loved seeing what you came up with. The thing is about these demos I make on here is they never have artwork associated with the song.. so the idea here is to design a piece that could act as the artwork for that song!

you can interpret this in any way you like & in any medium you like! the only criteria is it must be a still image (I know we did moving ones last year but just gonna keep it to still images this time) & it must be square. You could crop a picture you've taken that reminds you of the song, base a piece around one of the lyrics, draw something and scan it in, aaaaanything at all. click here for a link to the original post (you'll find the lyrics and song there).

then after friday I'll browse through em, display them all in a lil gallery on secretdemoclub.com  and pick some of my faves to upload on insta, alongside a lil clip of the demo.

**disclaimer for full transparency: at the mo I'm in the middle of a 3-month paid partnership with patreon (cool) - if you follow me on insta you may have seen me uploading my 'creator chronicles' video series every week. the video series is the main commitment, but once a month for the 3 months we also have to upload an insta feed post showing something we made with/for our patreon communities. I figured that showcasing your art as part of this challenge would be the perfect post for this, as it's a good example of my talent combining with some of yoUR talent to make something original, plus the kind of post I want to put up anyway!

so on the post with my fave entries from this competitions will be the hashtag #madewithpatrons - just wanted to explain that. I hope that's OK - I've never done anything sponsored like this before but promoting patreon itself is something I can definitely get behind, and the £ has been a really helpful contribution towards my album. :)

thanks y'all! excited to see what you come up with, if you have a chance to put something together!
