voice memo idea: 'easy life' (Patreon)

hey! here's a lil idea I just came up with on dodie's guitar. this thing is so inspiring the songs pretty much write themselves. lyrics at the bottom of this post!

if you're a spotify user could I ask for a quick favour in exchange for this musical gift? *street team assemble*:

so 'do you mind' is on a couple of spotify playlists and the devil of an algorithm decides who stays on most of these playlists based on the response to each track within that playlist. so if you have a spotify acc would u mind clicking through to these playlists linked below, finding 'do you mind?' and listening all the way through?! then click 'save' on the song (when you're still within the playlist) + from there click 'add to playlist' to add it to a playlist of your own, any playlist at all. (it can be a playlist you delete eventually, the main thing is showing that sweet algorithm that something about that song triggered a response in you, rather than making you just skip straight through).

OK THAT'S IT! feels a bit lame to ask but this kind of thing reeeeally helps the tracks to reach new listeners - 'more like you' has been the best streaming single from the album so far and that's been hugely down to sticking around on these kinds of playlists! :)

and back to the voice memo - here are the lyrics of this idea:

when i’m sad i buy things i don’t need at the shop

and i think of your face and i can’t ever stop

thinking bout how you’re probably kissing her

missing her when she’s not there

I know I’ve had an easy life

cause it takes a lot to make me cry

you know I’ve had an easy life

when the hardest thing I’ve had to do was say goodbye to you
