demo 72: things I was thinking about while you were talking to me (Patreon)

I've wanted a song with an arrogantly long title foreVER. here we are

I present to you, your march demo THINGS I WAS THINKING ABOUT WHILE YOU WERE TALKING TO ME, a totally song I made in a hotel room in Portland 2 weeks ago. it samples a few sounds I collected along the tour, including a particularly out of tune organ dodie and I passed by in New Orleans.

thoughts welcome! as always you can stream the track within the patreon app/site and or download the mp3 from this post. what are some things that your mind wanders to when you zone out?

lyrics:

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me

do I want kids in the future?

life could get boring after 45

without some kinda way to keep your dreams alive

inside these little people

who kinda look like you

should I shave all of my hair off?

those girls that do it seem so liberated

but I might have a weird head and I might just fucking hate it

and there’s no going back

i see that your are lips moving

babe i’m a million miles away

i’m drinking beer in a swimsuit

i’m riding a jetski over a lake

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me

I got a lot on my mind

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me

I wanna kiss a girl

I play it out in my head, as if I’ve got the nerve

sometimes I wanna move to the other side of the world

and live on a buffalo ranch

the music industry is dying!!!

so the rich kids are elite

and all songs are obsolete

the world is getting hotter

and i’m only getting older

no one’s getting older but me

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me

I got a lot on my mind

these are these things i was thinking about

while you were talking to me
