Alicia and Roscoe (Patreon)

Warlocks, sorcerers and other kind of pact/bloodline-related casters needs to channel life energy to gather their strength and cast their spells. Normally this process comes by naturally and a warlock can wait for his mana to refill across a certain period of time - however, you can always boost up the process in other unrelated ways.

Although necromancy is known mainly for raising skeleton armies and being pretty popular with edgelords, another use is related to "vitality channeling". Predicting her debt would keep her working overtime, Alicia asked her demonic patron one or two necromancy spells to boost up her mana reserves in an effort to be more effective in her adventuring jobs.

One of those allowed her to recharge off from mana crystals... which is useless since a mana crystal costs double her daily pay.

The other one is a bit more convoluted but more accessible way to "recharge", and all she needs is a guy and a bedroom (the last part optional, to be honest).

She had the feeling her patron was mocking her, half expecting a noble lady like her would crawl back to her mother's castle asking for money. But he was wrong!

Once she learned the ins and outs of mana extraction through the second method, she felt more and more energized when doing solo raids. Demihumans and regular humans have different mana proportions and until she met Roscoe, she didn't know virgins could offer a huge mana boost to her reserves.

How they met up? It seems Loren worked with him when she needed materials for her research while keeping track of the virginity status of everybody who worked with her at the academy (kinda weird, if you asked Alicia's and the academy's board opinion). Taking a virgin to bed was easy with Loren's introduction, but she wasn't expecting that guy to be a demihuman as well.

And the kind of mana such combination exuded? An once in a lifetime experience!

It took the whole night and a portion of the morning to extract everything, but after she was done, Alicia went straight to the guild's hall and took 5 solo jobs, breaking a record of most jobs finished in the same day and getting a huge bonus.

Her patron was satisfied with the view, but she had to be cautious: one of the boarmen who fool around with Loren started to spread a rumor she was some kind of "sperm vampire" which might limit her capability of gathering more "targets".

M-maybe she was actually turning into a vampire. 😨
