My absurd engine needed new oil (given how much I top it up, it practically gets new oil every few weeks anyway!) so I had a go, the first time I'd done this unsupervised but I used to do it on my old Ford Fiesta 30 years ago so it shouldn't be that hard ... should it?

Oil filter and change and an air cleaner. That ought to keep you away from the weir monster and not allow you to 'meat' it. Oil changes are fun. Drain oil, remove filter, replace filter, add oil, check dipstick, run engine to test, take shower and change to clean clothes. Then spot treat the oil stained clothes and start a laundry. Great fun.

Hi Guy ~ This post had both Jane and I laughing out loud and for extended periods. But we were laughing with you, in a sense, and not at you because we have been doing oil and filter changes on our 50hp Yanmar 4JH2E for many years. We'll share a related testosterone story with you when we finally share a pint or two. Our treat.
