Hello Patrons,

I have begun to wonder if I am failing you on here and would like to ask for your advice.

I've had a handful of people drop off lately with the "exit survey" (which Patreon apparently asks automatically when people cancel) response being "the creator is not engaging like I expected".

The thing is, I have no idea what engagement people are expecting when they sign up. My rewards tier descriptions generally propose the idea that you're chipping in because you like the YouTube channel rather than expecting anything substantial here but perhaps I'm out of tune with you.

So I'd like to hear what "engagement" you think I should offer. I'm not saying I can or will necessarily provide it (!) but at least we'll all have clarity :-)

Regards

David

Hi David ~ As your subscribership blooms, I would offer our Abraham Lincoln's words for your consideration (of course I paraphrase here); "You can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but never all of the people all of the time." And in that light I asugest you look at your numbers and don't change a thing, friend.

We'd accept quite meaningless and insubstantial posts. (I've edited this, because with hindsight it didn't have the tone or enthusiasm I was trying to convey, and instead was just.... bossy. Sorry David!)

Hi. I can't guarantee any regularity of postings here. As I say in my page intro, I see Patreon as a kind of "tip jar" rather than a "preferred viewer" system, where people can put some small amount of money my way each month if they like the videos . I don't want to have a system where Patrons expect or believe they're paying for bonus content; if it's posted, it is exactly that, a bonus!
