A Bank Holiday weekend approached and as I was going away for a few days to visit family, I wanted to moor the boat somewhere secure rather than just leave it on the towpath. So I headed a bit further up the Ashby canal to Trinity Marina at Hinckley and paid to have it moored there. On the way, it rained.

Here’s a thought David, since you now have video at the bow perhaps you could somehow WiFi the video to your phone and have a virtual lookout on the bow.

I've pondered that but the extra draw of WiFi would drain the battery which can only just last 3.5 hours as it is (and it's an extra large camcorder battery already). I could run an HDMI cable, with extenders to make it cover the boat length, but then I'd have to have a waterproof monitor at the back - it's pretty much a lot of bother and expense for not a huge amount of benefit!
