Cheeky Weekly #6 - Refactoring and Tinkering | Intimate Tales - Leena | Animations and Effects! (Patreon)

What's up my Nutty little Cheekies!

It's that weekly time yet again! Through all the ups and downs we've been hammering away at the breeding mines to bring you more of that good stuff! Check it out:

TSC Overhauls

Princess has spent a lot of this week cleaning up bugs, and just generally sorting out some things that weren't quite right, in addition to a lot of little improvements and updates to pretty much every date and chapter in the game (which has become a weekly routine since we started the overhaul).

As a way to make it easier to work with, Princess also split the script file for the game into multiple documents (don't laugh but it was over 40,000 lines of code). This should greatly improve performance in addition to making it way easier for us to navigate!

One thing that's been a long time coming is an update to the sex scene gallery, which we believe was actually... well, just plain broken and incomplete for a few updates now. It's been a bit tricky, but we're working on giving it a complete overhaul, adding all the new scenes and giving the interface a massive update!

Intimate Tales - Leena Marebel

If you've been on our Patreon recently, you probably know that we ran a poll to see which character you'd all like to see more of, and dear sweet Leena Marebel won! obviously we decided you were wrong and wrote an extended comic about Meliara instead. *Ahem* ...Actually we've come up with a very fun personal adventure for Leena. It involves her clothes-making skills, including a biography with all new information about her!

The Intimate Tales that we make are going to be formatted in a regular wide aspect ratio. This way they can later be added as an extra, for in-game viewing. There are also going to be some big illustrations included with an extra level of detail.

For this week we have some sketches and a rough storyboard of how Leena's Tale will play out. We can't wait to share the final story with you!

Let us walk you through the story board for a bit. This takes place after the date with the player and before the pregnancy test.

We see Leena working her seamstress job, saying goodbye to another happy customer. As she gets back to it, she can't keep her mind off that date with the player. She thinks of finding them on the streets, and decides she needs to design herself a skimpy flashy outfit. This way she'll catch the player's attention when they are out and about. We then see her take notes from outfits featured throughout the game and work her butt off to make a crazy-hot, impossible to miss outfit. Finally, as a test, she takes it out to the streets feeling embarrassed, but determined. As expected when wearing something of this sort, she experiences a wardrobe malfunction, which leads her to run back home embarrassed.

The 3rd and 2nd to last images (Leena strutting out to give the outfit a test ride, and then Leena being exposed) are going to be featured as large full body illustrations with extra added detail to them.

TSC Idle Animations (Check the Attached files!)

Cheeky and Princess have worked hard to add a new breath of life into the game; idle animations that make it look like the characters are literally breathing! It's a somewhat subtle touch but it took quite a bit of effort to get it working properly, and we're hoping it adds a palpable feeling of liveliness to the scenes.

Sex Scene Expanded Effects (Check the Attached files!)

On a similar note, we've begun work on adding a lot more animation and activity to the sex scenes, hoping to liven them up quite a bit as well.

When this project started, we pretty much made the sex scenes to be like slide shows where the player would click through images one at a time, while reading narration of what's going on. This of course has slowly shifted over the course of development. As we learned more and more about what Ren'py can do and what we can do within it, our ambitions have grown greatly.

Currently there are plenty of animatic sequences in the sex scenes, along with sound effects and other little touches. But we're planning to ramp this up greatly, both enhancing the effects we've already got and exploring all new ways to spice things up! As an example you can check the attached files to see SFX and a new Steam FX. We can't get too into detail here though, as we've only just begun this process.
