Cheeky News - Silver League - Comic format for March (Patreon)
Content
TL;DR: I will host the first 20 matches of the Silver League on Twitter and the last 4 matches will be exclusive to Patrons. Next month instead of making a short comic contained to the month of March, I will make a longer format one and share each page as soon as it's ready.Silver LeagueAfter some serious thinking, I believe I came to the perfect solution for the Silver League debate. The first 20 matches will all be hosted on twitter. And the final four matches (semifinals, final and bronze) will all be hosted here on Patreon [the matches that are framed in red in the image posted here]. That way it will only be four polls and you guys will have the last word on who are the winners!
Comics
Now onto the comic news, next month I will be trying a new thing with the comic.
So basically the past 4 months I shared the first couple pages, then I made the rest of the comic (somewhere in the ball park of 10 pages long) while teasing some panels, and then eventually uploaded the whole thing.
This month of March I am going to plan for a longer format comic (I am aiming for 20 pages but it might be even longer). It will very likely extend past the month of march, BUT, instead of sharing the first pages and then posting panel teasers until the full thing is out, I will be sharing with you EACH page, as they come out.
So the good things:
You will be getting content much more frequently.
The comic will be longer.
I will be able to take more time to explore themes and develop ideas, instead of hurrying everything to "okay now everyone has sex".
The not so good things:
If you enjoy surprises
I can't think of any other downsides honestly haha. Even if you really like having the whole thing at once, you can always wait until the whole thing is out before reading it and even then you will have a longer and better paced comic.
"But what if I leave your Patreon on the month of March?"Since extending the comic means I will have to give the comic rewards past the normal reward dates. I will make sure to send them to anyone who was a supporter during the time I was working on the comic, that way even if you leave, if you pledged at any point during me working on it you WILL get the comic reward!
"How will the early access work?"In regards to the exclusive timing for each page, I still haven't decided exactly how long, but I estimate it will be somewhere around two weeks of exclusive access for supporters. For reference I usually take between 2 to 3 days to make a single page, that is once I already have the thing planned out and blocked. So, you will have early access to anything between 5 and 7 pages before they start becoming public. I think this is a fair ratio given this format. This will be an experiment basically. I want to see how possible it is for me to start migrating to longer format comics. If this bombs then I will return to making short comics. If you have any questions feel free post them! I appreciate any and all feedback!Addendum:If you are curious, my end goal (as some of you might already know) is to eventually move on to doing long format comics of my worlds and OCs exclusively (with the Patron voted illustrations, requests and commissions being my only works of actual rule34 art). Now don't get me wrong I love rule34 and I love doing fanart of characters I love. But some companies sure don't like that. That is my main worry. Being able to work within my world and OCs will assure me that I won't ever get the hammer from anyone, and that I will be able to use my creations for anything that I might want without fearing any repercussions.
