Android autonomy, civil rights and individual freedom is currently regulated by the the SNA (Synthetic National Agency). Under the SNA regulations, the user is obligated to respect and treat Androids with human dignity and respect for life, or face civil and/or penal consequences. Creating or modifying Androids for purposes of harmful or malicious intentions against living beings is a serious crime and carries a prison sentence of up to 50 years.
