Hellooo,


With the CineMinis collectible figurine lineup becoming quite popular recently, I was wondering if I should separate it from the TV mod framework, making it into its own thing; as a standalone mod.

Obviously - like with everything - there are some pros and cons for both scenarios...

✔️ Pros for it being a separate mod:

  • It's obviously better for people who are not interested in other parts of the CinErotique TV mod - or vice versa for those who are not interested in the minifigs... so this way neither side would be bogged down with the extra stuff they don't need/use.

  • A separate mod would be less restricted by the "CinErtotique" lore; so other - new - figurine lineups like townies or even figs of other non lore character sims could be added as well.

  • Base mod would be likely SFW compatible (obviously, with the option to go full NSFW, if the user chooses so), so it would result in a better all around visibility and presence on various modding sites for this feature.
    Kinda like how Easel Art Catalog became a quite popular mod on it's own after it being separated from Sensual Studio.

  • If one or the other mod breaks and goes belly up for a bit due to a game patch, it wouldn't take the other mod with it.

❌ Cons for it being a separate mod:

  • A separate mod would lose some of the integration it has now with the main CinErotique mod.

  • Another mod to keep an eye on when it comes to updates :D

I'd like to disclose that - for the moment - this poll is only meant as a mean to test the waters, its result will not necessarily be binding either way.

As long as you reuse existing strings, so I don't need to translate again :p...Just kidding. I see some potential for a SFW version with other themes but speaking for myself I'm fine with just the Cinerotique universe. I could use some even more spicy minifigs.

It would definitely be better as a separate mod. Personally I don’t care for it at all, and it is frustrating that it shows up a fair bit

Hmm... interesting. If you don't mind me asking what do you find "frustrating that it shows up a fair bit" about the figurines feature as it is now in game? Like what in-game situation/context are we talking about that make you feel that way? Maybe it's something I can look into, and adjust if necessary. Genuine question, I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I'm actually looking for feedback on this.

I have enough mods to try to keep updated as it is. Maybe an option to turn it off for people that don't want to play with it.

I vote for more spicy minifigs too. However, I'm interested in minifigs from outside the Cinerotique universe as well.

I’ll use my current sim as an example. I opted to make him kind of a piece of shit person, as well as addicted to pornography. I’d love to rely more on the tv for this, but after a bit you’ll get more dialogue options, which is cool, but you also get sent minifigures multiple times. If you got sent, like, one just to alert you to the fact that they exist, that would be fine, but you get so many just from that. I end up just opening them and using destroy object on them because otherwise they are a lot of free money, and that’s never a thing that I go for personally. Same with the posters.

Ok, I see... If it's any consolation, after the initial drop of 1 & 3 Swagboxes, there are no more of those on the rewards track, so going forward it wont bother you with more. :) And while I like how the rewards track is now - as you said, it introduces users to the idea that collectibles exist - what I suppose I could do is making those gifted Swagboxes worth $0, so players could just easily sell them for nothing and that way it will not mess up their bank balance with lots of "free money".

I think the Integration with the TV Mod is the main feature for me, because watching the Cinerotique TV and winning some collectibles is a lot of fun.
