In today's post, we are going through different looks for the Snow Prowler Dragon. We have not decided on the mane vs no-mane yet (male/female maybe?) but have decided to go with a more unique horn design, kind of a cross between the Inferno and Icehorn, while staying away from designs we've already used such as the Inferno (1) and Frostfel (3). We will continue to explore unique horn designs based off the direction of 3/4.

Wings, we decided against 3 because it is too thin, and 1 because the membrane is too jagged for good flight, so will be exploring more options along the 2 theme which is similar to the Frostfel and Flame Stalker wings.

We will continue to update you all with more Behind the Scenes progress as development continues on the Snow Prowler.

Speaking of Snow Prowler, let us know if you can think of a better cold-themed name for the Frost Dragon and we'll consider it.

i LOVE ice dragons!! i cannot wait for snow prowler and frost dragon to come out! i think a cool name for frost dragon could be "Glacier Dragon" or "Hoarfrost Wyvern"

I think this is going to be my new favorite dragon to play! i love the fur and i think a mane for the male and no mane for a female would be awesome! cant wait. i think the name snow prowler is wonderful. hope this dragon comes out soon in future updates!

4!! Gorgeous! Though having horn options would be pretty amazing for cosmetics

I agree that a "full" mane for males and a more "horse mane" for females would be a great example of dimorphism. For the horns, I do like the ridging on top and the icicle bits below, but was a stronger antler-like look considered (a la caribou)? That COULD be seen as an overlap with the TS, I suppose, but it would suit the mane concept. "Snow Prowler" is one of the better species names in this game, IMO. Still, I will once again toss "Fatal Rime" into the ring for consideration.

I personally think 4 would be more for females since they nest & the extra fur would help them with the harsh cold environment. But I love the concept!

The Timekeeper

The wiki, for what it's worth, explicitly says, "The Frost element dragons will need to keep their nest cold to incubate their eggs." This is in keeping with the FS/IR having to set fire to their nests, and the BS having to electrify theirs. So a female frost/ice dragon doesn't necessarily need warmth for itself or its nest. That said, having a "reverse" dimorphism where the female has a more robust mane is an interesting idea. Eclectus parrots are like this, where females are a vivid red so males can (it is presumed) see them against tree trunks, while males are a bright green to hide them from predators in the tree canopy. It would just be difficult justifying this type of thing for a female frost/ice dragon, as noted.

I didn't know we had to add realism to a fantasy dragon game. Either give them both the mane or the mohawk, tho I'd love to see both to have the mane, give the male a more "beardy" look while the female's shorter. My other idea was either give female horns like #3 or #5 but that's about it. Whatever the devs choose, I'll be okay with it.

I really love Snow Prowler name, It doesn't need any changes

Grimlin

I like the manes but not really on the underside of the neck

I like the name Snow Prowler, because it works along side the Flame Stalker name (both referring to hunting). The horn design on 3/4 do look really cool but, and this is just an idea, maybe add a little cervine influence. The males could have bigger, flashy "antlers".
