Here is a look at the Blitz Striker's mating display animation. It is inspired by real life cobra intimidation displays.Enjoy~

Beanthing

Gotta balance those big ole wingies!

Spencer Bracamonte

Does anyone know the rankings for dragon top speeds like who's faster than who

Bibou

I think its something like bio > blitz > shadow scale

Jadex303

omg i LOVE it!

riskyroar

the animation is great but it needs some lightning on the wings

Valcury01

I live the irony of using the cobra's threatening stance as a mating call 😂

Lit Jellyfish

Looks amazing! I can't wait to play as the slithery boi

Vohasiiv

Needs some rhythmic lightning

Camlan

I'll back you up on that, it's bio>healer>(probably the micro)>blitz>SS>most everyone else (ASD remains the fastest on foot, faster even then a grounded bio)

riskyroar

that was my exact thought when i first saw it

ArchAngel of Weed

Can you show us the take off animation of the blitz striker

The Timekeeper

There are a couple of comments about adding lightning to the mating animation, and I'd like to add my two cents on that: First, I don't see that it's necessary given that, at this time, none of the other dragons have their element added to their mating displays. I think adding it to the mating animation on top of the bile and EMP stun might be taking it too far. Second, if lightning WERE to be added, I feel like it would be better as a subtle thing. Someone mentioned the wings, but I'd prefer to see little arcs and pops between the spikes of its "crown" of horns.

riskyroar

I get what your saying but no

Campepsi

I agree, but that's not to say no 'elements' should be added to mating displays. For instance, I think the bio should glow a little at some point of the animation. By biological logic, a female would want to chose the strongest and best mate. Birds chose males for their colors, but some birds also add 'skill' to the test. Like the birds that does the loudest sound with a weird pouch on their chest, the one who dances best,, who can build the best den etc. It would make sense for the ravager to set his wings on fire during the display, it would be nice for the Blitz to have some sparks, but maybe not outright ligtning, that would be much, I agree.

The Timekeeper

@campepsi Yeah, I actually think adding elements to mating displays would be a fine idea down the road, just that there's no urgency to do it NOW since it would be only the one species. My thought was that since each type (dragon, wyvern, drake, etc.) is supposed to have a representative for each element (e.g., inferno wyvern is fire, frostfel wyvern is ice) there'd be generations of mutations and crossbreeding over time. That means you'd naturally have infernos with a lot of white in them, or frostfels with a lot of orange in them—there's also the variety of craftable skin possibilities to consider—so to find the "right" mate, you'd have to be able to put your element on display as well. I agree about the infernos setting their wings on fire, given their display (this would also work for the frostfel, as they have the same self-shielding skill, just with ice/frost), though in the interest of uniqueness, that would nix that option for the blitz. But since the blitz is based on cobras, we can look to snake-charming, which involves keeping the cobra focused on the flute—so, eye contact is the key there, and something limited to the head makes sense. If we go with the "arcing crown" idea, similar "solar flares" would work fine for a fire amphithere. The FS also shows off its wings, but its chest and throat have an ember-like glow with threats and fire-breathing, so perhaps have that glow spread a bit farther, or maybe give the undersides of its wings that same glow in spots, some more intense than others, the way embers do when you blow on them (or even like a Christmas tree where the lights fade in and out slowly). A similar version would easily work for an ice dragon, since fresh snow glitters as it reflects light. I'm not too sure about the SS—all that's really coming to mind is a few hovering plasma clouds, maybe with a soft internal, pastel glow. They'd be too heavy to float up but too light to sink, so they'd just sort of mill around and then eventually disperse. That's very specific to the plasma SS, though, and wouldn't necessarily work for the SS of other elements (though I guess it wouldn't be too hard to say "the fire SS clouds are heavy-ish like a pyroclastic flow" or "the ice SS clouds are weighed down by ice crystals"). The bio seems simple enough—some deep-sea bioluminescent creatures have a sequenced pattern, like runway lights, that could be adapted. The drakes are beyond me at the moment, since acid (or fire, or ice, or plasma) and the play-bow don't really mesh well in my head. Maybe creating "bubbles"/"balls" that last for one or two seconds, then pop? Or bring the tail more into it. Ultimately, however, the problem with adding the element to the mating display, while evolutionarily feasible, is the fact that if the mating display stays the same between types (that is, all dragons, regardless of element, have the same display; all wyverns, regardless of element, have the same display; and so on), there has to be a non-elemental feature that will work with ANY element BUT doesn't overlap with other species, either. It would be a tightrope walk.

Megic The Grif

I love this sm.. Prob my fav mating display anim.

Flora

So cute but def should have a little more wobble at the end

Wolfe

reminds me of a cobra

Sen

I love the idea! Maybe add a little wobble of the wings like the flame stalkers but other than that I can't wait to play this one <3
