We would like to cover how to read the sheet music that we always attach with the Learn Shamisen pieces.

Some of you may already be familiar with this, but please take a look as a refresher!

On Learn Shamisen's sheet music, repeat signs and note lengths are indicated using the same symbols as standard staff notation. We do not cover everything, but we will explain the ones we use the most, such as repeat marks. We hope this will be helpful when you are unsure about reading the sheet music!

Since Tsugaru Shamisen is traditionally learned by ear, the notation can vary depending on the player. Your feedback will be helpful for future sheet music creation, so do not hesitate to share your thoughts.

Learn Shamisen
