https://www.

Is the shamisen notation upside down? Should not the big string be number 1 and then thinnest lowest when reading the music numbers?

Ki and Ki sensei, I was wondering when doing the 4300 is it easier to just have 43 already at the same time pressed down, because it is quicker to move to hajiki 3 instead of pressing first 4 then pressing 3. What do you usually do?

Hello, my shamisen has white dots on the sao placed at different distances from one another to represent tsubo, but no numbers. How can I tell what number they represent? Is there a way I can figure this out?

Thank you very much for the lesson! I just finished practicing for the day when I saw the new post. I'm very excited to begin working on this tomorrow!

I find it difficult to do Hajiki on a '3' note with the ring finger/kusuriyubi, the sound I produced is too soft (I am using the Shabo btw). Is there a recommended angle to do Hajiki?

It's hard to play the sukui right after a hajiki! 😂 But really fun to try! Thanks for showing step by step!

For the 4-3-0-0 phrases, is there a reason we Downstroke-hajiki-sukui-hajiki instead of Downstroke-hajiki-hajiki-sukui? The only difference I can see is in the percussiveness being more stable/timely. In terms of being able to play it fast, I find Downstroke-hajiki-hajiki-sukui much easier to play steadily. Otherwise I keep fumbling the sound with the index finger still being on the string when I have to remove it for the open string sukui. Doing a hajiki with the index finger seems more efficient. Would it be bad or sacrilegious to do it this way?
