Content/Trigger Warning: themes of child abuse and eating disorders.

Went with a much more personal/vulnerable route in the mini comics this time around. This wasn't easy for me to write/draw, so thank you for supporting me on this platform and encouraging me to include some more personal art into my work.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Parents are supposed to love and nurture their children when they get sick

Cedar

❤️❤️❤️❤️

JasJas

Thank you for sharing your story 💜 it's not an easy thing to do and we are so proud of you

Dusky Snep

It takes courage to show a vulnerabilities, and it took strength to get through those times.

Hyp Wolf

I love this...in a painful way.

Punkthekidd

Definitely know the pain of neglect. Love you jack. I hope you never stop making art.

Rave Redfang

I am so sorry you had to endure this growing up. Thank you for sharing. Sending love over your way ❤️

Junior

Everyone has their own "monsters". The people who seem like they don't have any are probably the people who have the most. I'm glad Jack could share this with us.

Beldro Mercier

Omg. I can't fathom the darkness, the guilt, the pain of it all. I ...love? how you drew your father. I don't know if or how it evolved since but it is unacceptable and he should be ashamed. You don't choose to be sick and caring for a sick child is among our collective duty. Hope you can overcome it and learn to enjoy food, seek help if sick make noise in bed, all of them.

AkiDave

I’m sorry you had to go through this Jack ❤️ I’m glad that you feel comfortable enough to create personal art, In spite of how hard it is to put things like that both out there and to relive it as you create it. You’re loved man ❤️

Hofi

I'm sorry you had to go through this. It must've been (and I bet still is) very difficult for you. Sending love ❤️😔

Greenbeans

Glad you are out of that environment ❤️

Grey Archer

Your responsibility as a parent is to your child’s safety and security. I’m sorry you were denied that. No one deserves that kind of abuse growing up. That’s never ok.

Asa

❤️❤️❤️

ArtMutt

Dude, I'm so, so sorry you had to deal with that. That sounds awful.

Datdude1999

I’m right there with you Jack, my dad was a verbal and physical abuse person, he gave me and my older sister PTSD from the stuff he did to us for years, your not alone bro ❤️

sheppard wolfeyes

Sadly I really understand where you are coming from. Took me years away from home to become truly myself. Wish the best for ya. *hugs*

WereFloofers

Bro, are you sure you’re not me from another mother? Because this hits home

Nuhyu'to

The way you drew your father resonates extremely well with the mental image of my own. He would explode at the drop of a hat and it has led to different but extremely similar feelings and tendencies… I hope you get to enjoy everything you want, the way you want, no matter how loud, no matter how sick it makes you Jack ❤️ I know the road will be long but please give yourself that kindness! And thanks for showing us a more vulnerable side!!!!

Lucian Greywolf

For similar reasons, this is why I show the utmost care and love towards my son. I never want him to ever feel fearful of me in any way. I really hope the years have helped you to heal and thank you for sharing this with us ♡

Otterfate

Oh gosh... I'm so sorry, Jack. I've had similar experiences, and the weight of it is an awful thing. I'm glad you're healing a step at a time, and that having distance from it all is letting you find your peace with things.

Daddy Bearcat

That's really, really awful. The man is obviously mentally ill, and I'm so sorry you (or anyone) has had to live with that kind of treatment. I hope he's out of your life now, for good. It takes a lot of strength to share things like this with others, and I applaud you for that. Your work has made me smile so often; I had no idea what you'd been through. 🫂

Ropufu

That was beautiful, Jack. Thank you <3

Ryan Thompson

🥰 thank you for sharing your story

Tank Mendoza

I understand what it’s like for father to treat you terribly. My father did that to me and my brothers and if he wasn’t satisfied yelling at us or hitting us he would attack our mother. She was the one that taught us how to love and to be proud of who we are. *hug* you’re not alone buddy we’re all here for you.

Leafside

I wish you the very best and in sorry to hear you went through that, hopefully in the future you will be able to enjoy yourself without worry.

Leafside

And thanks for working so hard even with all the hardships, every time i see a notification of one of your post it makes the day a lil better, stay safe and wish you the very best!~

Boris

I have to say though that (being a bit older myself and likely the same age as your dad) we were raised with different values than you guys today. We were taught not to show emotion as it was regarded as a sign of weakness. This is deeply engrained and many of us still get disgusted when we see other men show what we perceive as weakness. When it happens, we shun them. So, when it comes time to raising our sons, we (try to) pass those same values and traits on to them. Much of it is toxic masculinity. Fast forward to today and the world is a different place.

Furnikan

Thanks for sharing such a story with us, we are happy that you let us in, we support you No matter what!! 😄❤️

Licorice

Im glad your recovering after such torment. Glad your here with is safe happy and free. Keep making strides in your recovery. We got you.

Lurkybot3k

If I ever meet you in person, I'd like to give you the biggest hug.

PIXXXU

Bruh, don't know your relationship with your father atm, but that past part is not okay, borderline child abuse...

Afadi Chionesu

Thanks for sharing. I'm sorry that you've gone through all that trouble. *Hugs from me* 😢❤️

FuzzyLopunny

That was a nice change of pace and very personal thank you for sharing

Moth

I grew up in a similar situation. I was always a skinny kid and autistic so certain foods I didn't like because of texture or other factors. I never really liked meat for example or anything on bones. My dad would often make me sit at the table until far after my bed time until my plate was either finished or I won the staring contest with him, So I always had a unhealthy relationship with food and actually gained weight because I;d binge eat foods that were safe for me. Now I'm able to heal more, and I'm entirely plant based which not only makes me happy, but also gives me FLAWLESS skin!

Asher Tail

I’m so sorry this happened to you *hugs* hope things are a bit better. That must have been so hard.

Mutt

Similar situation. Where was your mother?

Mutt

Mother did the same to us. The most toxic horrible thing ever. “Stop pissing on your face, or I’ll give you something to cry about”. All that does is breed domestic violence and mental illness. I made sure to break it with the younger generation in my family

AC

Thank you for sharing something so personal. I am glad you are slowly working towards healing and can do so in a better place 💖

greenhornet1004

I had a step father who was abusive too and would yell and threaten us over stuff like that too, plus a step mom who kept saying I was fat and needed to be skinny to attract girls. This comic hits me at the heart strings, and I'm hoping your path of recovery from this abuse gets easier for you. Best wishes 🫂

Dasypygal

I'm so sorry you went through that. As someone who grew up during the AIDS epidemic, I've quite had enough of people who think getting sick is a weakness, a moral failing or a punishment. Disease and illness strike for purely biological reasons and to believe otherwise or to berate or belittle a person for something beyond their control is ignorant and mean-spirited. I'm glad you are recovering, my best wishes for your journey.

MasterDraco

It's horrible how a father can do this to his son, the emotinal and mental scars must be immense. When a child is sick parents should be helpful and understanding and not act like THAT! It's great that you had the courage to put all of that into pictures and to tell your story though. That's not just a good step for recovery, also to make aware of things like that happening all the time. Thank you for sharing your story, it's good that you start to overcome the scars from that. Just keep your own pace and find back to a healthier rhythm and nutrition. I am sure you can do it! <3

Red Laurent

It takes a lot of courage to share something so personal like that. And horrible that you had to endure it. I hope you continue to get better and move on from it. Thank you for sharing.

Hyenatime

Awrr, Jack :( I can’t possibly know how that felt. I can relate to some degree, so all I can say is that I’m sorry. You didn’t deserve that. one question tho: were you two ever able to reconcile, or did you find it healthiest for yourself to cut ties?

OkamiKage

boy iam feeling sorry for you :( i mean i cant relate everything but it still hurts to read something like this. i hope at some point you and your father made up :3 other than that: ur great and i love your art :3

Henry90

Thanks for sharing this with us. It must have been very hard going through all of that. Sending you big hugs and wishes of recovery.

sunkawakan

Holy shit, Jack. Mental and emotional abuse is terrible, as terrible and far more insidious than physical abuse. I hope that you are getting through it

Arc

What an asshole. Be well. 💚💚💚💚

Zac

That image of little, teary, ill kiddo broke my heart. I'm so glad you're on *this* side of it all and improving... ❤️

Eric Stafford

Oof, this hit me right in the feels. Thank you for being brave and speaking up about these vulnerable moments. You’ve gone through so much, more than one can neatly draw into a mini-comic. I appreciate you and I’m with you 💙🫂

GreenDreamer

Jesus Christ, that's awful...and worse, all over something that can't even be controlled. I'm also sorry that you went through something so terrible under such an abusive parent. I'm sad to say I fell under a similar lash with my dad, whenever he was trying to "tutor" me with my homework and I got the answers wrong. Smashing things and spanking me with a ruler/belt retained information alright—just not the kind that went on test paper. 😒
