Knowing these two, one will get the shaver lead wrapped around his neck and choke, the other will try to help him and end up with paws all over him, but will slip on the floor, releasing the cable from the neck (whew), but then they'll fall on TOP of each other, and... god it never ends

Makes me realize he never grew his hair back. He kept it shaved.

A lot of people tend to cut their hair and/or change styles after a relationship ends. It's kind of significant here, even though they never officially had one at this point. With all the things going through Cooper's mind, he probably subconsciously thinks that cutting his hair will help to distance himself from his feelings. What's even more interesting is that he still asks Andy for help. That can be seen from a couple potential angles.
