Frequently Asked Questions! (Patreon)
Content
Hi there! I've jotted down my most frequently asked questions through messages in no particular order and thought it would be helpful to collect them all in one place for you. I hope this helps! ^^
“Hello/Hi/How are you?”/*sends meme/funny/cute image*/“Where can I chat with you?”
Good, thanks! I appreciate the friendly gesture, but these kinds of messages actually clog up my DMs where I communicate with commissioners, Patrons with questions, and group chat admins. I don’t use my social media to chat much. It helps me stay organized and keeps me from getting overwhelmed!
If you have questions not found on this FAQ, you can leave a comment on posts I make or send a message with the question and I will answer it to the best of my ability. If you try to engage with me further with conversation and I do not reply, please do not take it personally. As much as I enjoy our community, the reality is that I don’t have the time to get to know everyone that contacts me. Thank you for understanding!
“I just wanted to make sure you’re okay/I’m here for you/I can be a listening ear!”
I really appreciate your care and concern! Whenever I announce that I’m having a tough time, it’s strictly to let you know that I’m behind on work and to expect a slight delay on content. I have a wonderful support system and I’ll be just fine so there is no need to privately message me and “check in” on me. Again, thank you for caring :3
“Do you do art trades or requests?”
Sorry, the current workload keeps me too busy! I do not take requests even if it’s about my own characters. I know some folks wanna see certain characters doing certain things, but I would rather work my way through the story before taking suggestions.
“Will you help me design my fursona/ref sheet?”
Designing a fursona is fun and very personal! Unfortunately, I will not be able to assist you with that unless it’s your turn in the commission line. I recommend reaching out to the community and getting their input, or simply exploring and checking out other’s fursonas to give yourself some ideas on what features you like.
“Will you give me art advice?”
While I cannot act as your personal tutor, there’s a bright side; there are tons of references, tutorials, and free lessons all over the internet! Check out places like Deviantart, Twitter, or try googling different tutorials.
I offer these general words that help ME out with artsy things:
- Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. It’s easier to edit and work on an image you can see than to try and hold yourself to unrealistic expectations and get it perfect from brain to page with every mark you make. Relax, it’ll never be perfect, but that’s what makes it unique! A lot of success starts with taking some of the pressure to perform off yourself.
- For expressions, try making faces at yourself in the mirror, or make the face while you’re drawing it to feel which muscles and areas of your face feel flexed or stretched. It’ll help you understand where to pull features and exaggerate them for effect!
- If there is something you are avoiding, such as drawing hands in pockets to hide them or doing minimal backgrounds, consider setting aside time to really practice them. I used to absolutely HATE backgrounds, but my relationship with them has been getting better the more I force myself to spend time with them and work with them.
“How long have you been drawing?”
I’ve drawn recreationally my whole life. I’ve been making characters and stories as long as I can remember! I went to school and got my Bachelor’s in Studio Art and went on to do some contract work and internships in that field. Then I found a day job outside of the art world that I really fell in love with, and I learned to keep this balance between my hands-on day job and my creative artsy night job with you guys! I actually find that time away from doing art helps recharge me and inspires me to keep going.
"How/When did you become a furry?"
When I was in high school, I was dating someone who's older sister was a fursuit maker! She suggested I try drawing commissions for the community, and the rest is history ^^
“Can I draw your characters/do fan art?”
Of course! I’d be honored, thanks for asking! ^^
"What happens next in the comic/story? Will (character pairing) happen?"
Sorry, no spoilers! You'll just have to wait and see as pages come out ;D
“I have a question about commissions!”
You can find the commission FAQ here!
“Can we meet/date/be friends?”
If we are going to the same convention, I will be sure to announce it publicly and you are absolutely welcome to say hello at my table! However, please respect my space and privacy, as I go to cons primarily to work and take commissions so my time to chat and goof around with you may be limited. If I wish to pursue anything further, I will communicate that to you.
“I sent you a donation on your Ko-fi/Paypal so let’s be friends/date/talk!”
This is something I’ve had a lot of trouble with and it’s not the most comfortable thing to address because I want to be polite to everyone. While I VERY much appreciate any donation you give toward me so I can keep producing content, that does not entitle you to my attention. I have caught myself in too many situations where someone will use their donation as leverage to trap me into interactions/relationships when I don’t have the time or I am uncomfortable. Please, please do not do this to me. I want to treat you with kindness and respect and don’t wanna hurt anyone’s feelings, but please do not donate to me if you have any personal expectations of me in your underlying motives.
“Can I get art with your fursona?”
This is a case by case answer for me after I learn the details of the art piece. Usually it’s a yes! However, please respect my answer if it’s a no and that an art piece including my fursona does not reflect any relationship between us.
Thank you so much for your time. I hope this clarifies some things and that you keep enjoying the comics and other art on here! 💚
