This is a video that got voted for on Twitter. It started out as being an exploration of Batgirl in relation to the bad killing joke adaptation, but became something more broad in the process of being made.

I'll have another poll up so people can vote on the next video soonish. But up next: The thing I dyed my hair for.

is there a reason why their is no thanks to the patreons at the end?

This month's thanks were in the Bloodborne video. Normally I try to spread them across all the videos I make in a month, but the BB one was so long that I felt it needed long credits.

Yay! One minor thing: I'm not terribly happy about the dig at Frank Miller @ 1:31, which I thought was a bit ableist.

Nick V.

Trust me - the only disability Frank Miller has is being Frank Miller.

I really liked this. The cavalcade of C-List comic book characters had me in stitches. If I had one criticism it's that your history of comics is very, very male. Male artists and writers made comics great. Male writers and artists killed comics. I'm friends with many women who make comics and I don't think they would like to think of their medium as "dead" (even as a hyperbole). I was at the Ignatz Awards a couple years back when women swept it, so I would like to think of those artists as the future within the indie scene and beyond. I can't dispute your interpretation of comic book history in the broad strokes, but I think it's a bit too reductive. It's an industry that women are continually written out of and I think that trend should come to an end.

Jasmijn Wellner

That doesn't help me or other disabled people, though.

I will avoid making this kind of joke in future. I apologise, and thanks for writing your concerns.

In many ways it's a blessing, but the issue is I never expected to become this popular. I wanted to thank people in every video, and I do like doing it! But then I got so many people that it would make the credits huge and feel less personal. So to avoid having a long credits sequence after every video (and some of my videos are short enough that it would be a little ridiculous), I cut them up (or if I spend a long time working on something and only end up putting that thing out when I intended more, I put them all in one video). Obviously I can see from your perspective it means you aren't being thanked for every video even if you're being charged for the ones you're not being thanked in. I can see that being annoying. If this is a deal-breaker I believe Patreon lets you set a maximum pledge amount.

That's definitely salient. Like always, history holds up the men who took part in the field more than the women and I should try to be more aware of that. I'm very happy the people support me do always expect better of me. Thanks. Next time I talk about comics I will rectify this.

I should also apologize if I offended with my joke; I have a tendancy to do that.

I enjoy when you talk about a subject I'm unfamiliar with; I get to learn while I learn! Great video =)
