Maybe because Pokemon is from Japan? Really, the time flowers are cannon to the movie, so we can't complain. One thing that always struck me though is that they open up in a slightly weird way - almost like a mouth on a centipede. Unrelated, but I wonder - time FLOWERS, any relation to the grass type legendary associated with time travel? Will we see their origin when we meet Celebi?
