As some of you may have noted, there was no linked image with today’s post.  I left (real) work early yesterday with what I thought was just some residual after being sick with a cold/flu for nearly a week.  Nope.  By yesterday evening I was in the ER with…(drum roll, please)…a kidney stone.  Ah yes, my old nemesis…this being my 4th one in 5 years.  I didn’t get out of the ER until well after midnight and have otherwise been too doped up today to even think about getting on my pc.  I will get the links fixed…it’s just not gonna be today.

Get well soon and I hope the next year is a healthier one for you

Sorry to hear that. Get well soon. Do you drink a lot of soda? I heard that soda is a common factor among those that get kidney stones.

No, mine are cumulative...50+ years of typical southern, fried-everything diet and way too much coffee when I was younger. I had one 5 years ago and they saw three more, but nothing they could do about them. This was last one...it passed thursday night.

Sorry to hear you're not well... again. I've had those they are no fun, but the good thing is you passed them, that's what counts. Take your time, rest up and get well. No one should be sick ahead of the holidays.

I managed to do a half day of (real) work on Friday, but otherwise...I haven't been out of the house much since passing the thing on Thursday. Even after you pass them, your troubles aren't over. That other kidney...yeah, it's been doing double-duty so it hurts for a week or so thereafter too. My two previous jobs, they would've blowing up my phone within 48 hours, hounding me to get back to work. This one, however, I got quite a few 'the hell are you doing here' looks and comments...to include my boss and both owners.

Yeah ya gotta give the other time to relax a little too. And don't forget to drink your cranberry juice too, that should help keep them down to at least a passable size. Yeah don't be a workaholic if you don't have to. But the fact that the Boss and the Owners are looking at you like that means you may have found a pretty good job after all, but at least they know you aren't a slacker. Anyway I hope it's all cleared up before the holidays so you can kick back and relax a bit and enjoy the time off. So if I don't type at ya before then I hope you have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year. Type at ya later.
