The bridge is also a means of controlling the delivery and rate of delivery of supplies, vehicles, personnel, etc. it constitutes a bottle neck and a predictable choke point that can be closed off at any time (forcing secondary logistics to be activated and organized, something the corrupt and half competent Russian management system does very slowly and haltingly). It also 'ends' in a long diversion through the same area the Kherson build up would cut immediately if successful, so cutting the bridge to disrupt logistics may not be necessary.
