OSW Update! (JAN 14th) (Patreon)

Hey brahs and bras!

Hope you had a great holiday and January is going well for ya :) I realise I generally hold my cards close to the vest, both to surprise ya, and just in case things go tits up & I have to cancel it (like the SummerSlam 2017 that was never recorded!). I do this in my personal life too, but I'd like to try out being more up-front, I reckon it'd give ya an idea of how my time is spent and to look forward to future projects! So here's what's going on in the world of OSW!

December Recap:

I was super happy to get two episodes out (67 & 68) in December! Thank you for the kind feedback! It was weird to have to stop production of B4G07 to record the Xmas episode (esp saying “it’s Christmas day lads” on like the 12th of Dec, ha ha) Whenever OSW episodes are released I kinda feel like Hobbes in this picture, pouncing on you with a hug and messing up all of your plans :D

I also hosted Xmas iMPACT a bit differently (relying on my notes much less) to make it more conversational/natural, and I’m real happy how it turned out. I’m gonna try (TRAHHHH!) it again for ep69.

Week 1 (1st-7th Jan) : Man I loved that Xmas and New Years fell on Mondays. I mentioned it to people around me and nobody remotely seemed interested, lol. I Anyway since I didn't finish Xmas iMPACT until like 6pm Saturday before Xmas, then family/friend meetups, I was absolutely fucked! I took off the first week of January. I still shot a few emails out but in general just spent it finishing Stories Untold and playing Night in the Woods (two indie games). Prior to the new year I scheduled the Nominations threads and didn't touch social media for a week. It was nice having a social media detox; it wasn't that big a change, I think spending more time off the computer is a much bigger difference! I kinda hate how dependent I am on checking my phone (i end up cycling through twitter, facebook, reddit, emails, here, forums, and loop again!) so I'm looking to curb that.

Week 2: Golden Nogger voting! Monday morning I went through your 133 nominations posts! I added that to my list, created a spreadsheet and divvied up the categories into 3-3-4 in terms of manageable difficulty (eg making videos for song covers is a lot harder than posting HoF text). I got the episodes together and took screenshots, and got V1 to note times for the song covers in episodes. Usually I'd release a category a day, but I think doing 3 or 4 is better time spent for you, and more fun than being drip fed (even if they're only being made right before release!). I used Poll Daddy and then created a "portfolio" (which is a type of page on wordpress) for each category. This kind of sorting/technical work took a lot longer than expected! But I got some nice feedback/people asking for certain categories to have their own video as a reminder and it's cool to schedule time to do it! Voting will close sometime early Monday as I do up the results and script for the GNs. (Cast your votes here!) 

Week 3: We'll be recording on Tuesday! After Xmas iMPACT (Ep 68) I was asked a couple of times if we'd do something special for episode 69 and yeah! I feel doing an impromptu review would be time better spent than a Q&A sesh. (I don't know if we'll reschedule it, maybe a NU-only one?) So on Tuesday we'll be recording the 5TH ANNUAL GOLDEN NOGGERS and a review of SUNNY SIDE UP! I'm uncertain of how we'll make this a video review, obviously nobody wants to see full penetration (LOL) I'd love to hear your suggestions below. Then I'll be spending the rest of the week audio editing both.

Week 4: Finishing audio editing if needed, then a day off before working on sending out the rest of the What Bars! Dying to get these out the door, and V1 & my bro already asked if they could help, which is super nice to hear.

Week 5: All going well, we'll be recording a ROYAL RUMBLE 2018 review! I've asked V1 and Maffew to join me. Been itching to do something with Maff for a while now, he's a lovely and a funny guy! 

5th Golden Noggers: I'm hoping to get this out before the end of the month. I thought of something really cool, I've asked Chris to make a puppet OOC to introduce the awards! He's already made a prop Golden Nogger: 

Literally 10 years ago OOC hosted our WBW (bouncy castle) awards show, under the name Foxy Stoat. FOXAYYYY! I absolutely can't wait to record and see what Chris comes up with. Mazel!

I've been thinking about this for a while, I want to release a quick & dirty vid of what I've been up to/watching/playing every month. I've been taking notes and I'll release the first vid by the end of the month!

General plans for February:

Release ep 69 (Sunny Side Up) early Feb and ep 70 (Royal Rumble 2018) late Feb

Release NU Film review Abraxas (w/Jesse Ventura)

Start sending out NU membership cards!
