Hey hey!

What've we got in the magic bag? It's our 3rd installment of OSW PLAYLIST, aka "what Jay's been playing/watching over the last month?"; the caveat being it has to be recorded, edited and uploaded in a day, to not interfere with OSW editing!

Worth noting The Wolf of Wall Street review is NSFW - the film has a lot of debaucherous nudity and I gave up trying to cut around it while still showing the relevant scenes! Also, there are some spoilers for TR2 (not the main game, but the DLC) for discussion. I just checked steam, since I stop and read everything I come across -- I've actually spent 47 hours in the game! Yeeeeeaaaaaah!Hope you enjoy it and would love some feedback :)

Hope you guys didn't get caught out by the NSFW! Like every office party scene has sex/nudity/drugs in it, it's impossible to cut around without resorting to nitro stills 😂

I was just about to watch this at work, thank you SO much for the NSFW tag!!

Absolutely love this gimmick, great work and I am sure it feels like a great challenge (record, make and edit the video within a day)

Great stuff. IMO, Scorsese navigates that difficult line (as he does in lots of films, e.g. GOODFELLAS,) of sticking to the emotions and POV of the main characters (see Margot Robbie's character depiction) without endorsing them. I think it's obvious he thinks these guys are shitty human beings, albeit ones with a fundamental human trait of greed and always wanting moar. The movie is easier to digest in 2 sittings, but in a single viewing I think it plays as it should: like a long drug trip or binge, where there's excess, the thrill of what will keep happening, the peak, a downturn, not wanting it to end, and then dealing with consequences, And of course the ending...it's the real life story but it's such a clear societal critique at the same time, considering how much the film is like GOODFELLAS and how Belfort gets off so easy, even easier, considering he's a top guy in the whole criminal scheme. I'm glad you got to see the movie and enjoy it, Jay. I hope you'll revisit it someday because there's so much craft put into it that makes it worthwhile, imo. It's one of Scorsese's best movies, imo. You wouldn't think a 70+ year old director could make a movie that young feeling, but he pulled it off. /end of my spooge-fest for this movie.

Jay if you liked Wolf of Wallstreet I recommend that you should check out "I, Tonya" starring Margot Robbie, it has the same feel as Goodfellas and the above mentioned movie .

P.s The callback to Scarecrow in Arkham Asylum with the giant antagonist that the protagnoist has to defeat was done in a very similar style, animation and look to Metal Gear Substance (The Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty re-release and expansion game). There's a mode called Snake Tales and you have to fight a giant guard, it's extremely similar to the Arkham Scarecrow section and, by the looks of it, Tomb Raider Either way, this is always well worth the money. Thank you.

One of my Mega Boys Henry Zabrowski from the Last Podcast on the Left is in Wolf On Wall Street! He's the little fat ginger bollocks in Jordans team. If you're into true crime, the supernatural and other nonesense of the sort you should check them out jay :)
