Hey hey!

This month I got stuck into PARKS & REC and indie puzzler THE SEXY BRUTALE! If you've seen/played these I'd love to know your thoughts/fav quotes in the comments section :)

Link: YouTube.com/watch?v=Tahk4FawO90(updated with a YouTube link Nov 2019!)

If you were wondering what acoustic deeley I have at the start, it's a "Marantz Sound Shield" attached on a stand. Honestly I wouldn't recommend it as mic technique (ie standing closer to the mic, sorting out the gain/post-processing) made way more difference to audio fidelity. That and treating the room. Mine gets some pretty gnarly (yes, 90s brah!) ceiling echo, hence the cushion on top, which actually helped loads. At least i'm not under a blanket anymore!

Oh! When WM34 editing is closer to completion I'll have a release date :)

See ya in the funny pages!

Jay

I would happily have Ron Swanson as my dad and I love my dad.

Delighted you covered Parks & Rec. one of my absolute favourite shows. The whole thing reminds me of college. While I went for an unrelated degree, their community reminded me of mine. We were a small Christian college of about 400, 90 living on residence but were tight knit like their workplace. I was the lovable klutz. Also it was during those years I discovered that show and the Office so certain episodes take me back to binge watching them in dorm instead of doing term papers. It always brings a smile to my face, totally re-watching it soon while drinking one shelf of liquor :P

So papa Hunter the office (u.s.) or parks and rec?

Steve C

I love my Steam Link. The controller is pretty good too

Hearing the theme song to Parks & Rec just makes me really happy. Too many scenes to recall, but I often use Mona-Lisa's "MONEY PLEASE!!!" quote. And Patton Oswald's Infinity War filibuster is a thing of legend.

Jason L

Is that the first hint you're giving about the new arc? So I'm guessing it's either the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels arc or it's the Virgil squash matches arc. I'd be equally okay with either.

Luke Bennett

I remember my ex girlfriend showed me Parks & Rec in 2012 and we burned through the first few seasons and then continued watching. Of course all the characters are amazing, but I love Tom (Aziz in anything is awesome) ... his naivety is amazing and his almost inability to live in the real world is so hilarious. There are too many quotes to go through, but I do recall him in court being trialled for a traffic offence and Tom reads through his own twitter history : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B17wQYDcq6EAlso John Ralphio singing "Technically I'm homeless" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlLyZEfGQIU

Awesome OSW Playlist video dude, I have a TV show recommendation for you if you like unusual comedies with good cameos. "Angie Tribeca" is a cop show with a Naked Gun / Police Squad style of comedy created by Steve Carrel. Currently only 3 seasons. Give it a watch if it sounds like your cup of tea. Can't wait for the WM34 Video and thanks for the informative updates!

I love the dumb random towns people. "But isn't all food bad for you? I've been eating lasagna and muffins every day of my life for 40 years and I feel terrible"

Parks and Rec is my happy place. I restart the series every time I'm feeling down. The characters in the show are the deepest in show I've ever watched. Every new character introduced was my new favorite character. All so uniquely hilarious. April and Andy are low key one of the best TV couples ever.

Finally had a chance to watch this. Another great Playlist Jay! Been meaning to Binge Parks and Rec, considering so many of my favorite comedians make guest appearances in it. Good trip down memory lane!

did Louis really try and horn in? at the time he had his own show on fx which he was starring, editing, directing and producing ( what we in the business call the full Wiseau or Jimmy Bennett is also acceptable) and doing his stand up specials and i thought he did a few episodes as a favour to Amy Poehler as she appeared in his series and Parks wanted well known guest stars that season to really push it after season 1 was a bit of a let down
