OSW is 9 today!! (Patreon)

IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY! OSW is 9 years old! 🥳Thank u for sticking with us all this time and allowing us to do this as a job. It's freakin amazing. I walk straighter because i know you guys have our back :)
Here's a pic of OOC, Neo and myself circa 2003! It's in Trinity College so V1 was probably at the BARRRR
Here's 9 Lesser-known OSW facts:9) OSW used to have 4 members - Jay, V1, OOC and Neo (Niall). He only did 3 shows before legitimately disappearing and breaking contact with us. He'd do this semi-regularly since our college days so it wasn't news, but this time he never came back. If you're out there Neo, stay there!
8) OSW #1 was our third recording session. One of us couldn't make it to the first two - if #3 didn't go ahead we might have just given up entirely! V1 couldn't make it that day, which is why his first appearance is WrestleMania 2.A similar thing happened later on - V1 couldn't make our Survivor Series '89 recording initially (it was just myself & OOC) but I didn't think it was good enough, so we just recorded it again with V1!
7) We were originally called "WBW Ringside" after our bouncy castle federation "World Bounce Wrestling", which is exactly what it sounds like!
We slip in a LOT of WBW ("Dub") references into OSW. "Dub Spot" = double clothesline rest spot, which we did a lot, lying down while we thought of the next sequence of moves!
6) The name "OSW Review" is a spin-off of a chat group called "OSW Chat", because the forum was so busy I didn't want the videos to get lost. OSW Chat was run by Dav, Billy and myself, was originally on BEBO and then migrated to Facebook.
5) Black Saturday Pilot: Episode 1 wasn't the first OSW! I made a "pilot" as a proof of concept about the show to show to the lads - covering Black Saturday, and is legitimately the first review I've ever recorded and edited. OSW still retains a lot of the structure - retrospectives, videogame music, aftermath. You can even hear our original themesong, "Metroid Metal" by Stemage, which I shamelessly stole from the GameTrailers Metroid retrospective. By the time I put together WM1, I'd decided to go with "Acceptable in the 80s" by Calvin Harris, but I left it in WrestleMania 1
4) Evolving Audio: Early shows sound like we're calling from the moon because I had no formal training! So I learned as I went along. We legit started with a Rock band mic in a popcorn tub! Episode 12 (Rumble '89) we upgraded to the YETAY and THE ROOM was the first proper review using the Sennheiser e835s into a Zoom H6.
3) Our main inspiration for doing a podcast was Review-a-Wai by John Pollock & Wai Ting's (now POST Wrestling). They chose random old PPVs to review, but covered the inVasion in order over the span of a month - I wondered "what happened next?". I'm still friendly with them today - they're lovely, positive and incredibly hard-working guys. I'm proud to have helped out even a teeny bit with their Patreon launch!
2) Adding video: The idea for a video component comes from the now-defunct gaming vodcast Epic Battle Cry. Our billboard gag zooming out of a lit window is a reference to them! However during editing I found out if you sync the video, it becomes much more engaging! Which started me down the rabbit hole of photoshopping and little video sequences and now custom graphics and animation!
1) 2021 will have both Episode 100 and our 10 year anniversary! What shows would ya like to see us review to commemorate the milestone?
Love Jay, V1 & OOC 💚
