Editing Episode 60! (Patreon)

Hey guys & gals!

Hope you're having an awesome Sunday afternoon. Thought I'd give you an idea of editing the show! Here's what it looks like now:

http://i.imgur.com/el5GYee.png (same pic as above)Probably the most important part of OSW that isn't really mentioned is the initial 3-4 days spent tightening the audio as much as possible. This wouldn't be as necessary if we were just a podcast, but things have to have a higher pace when combined with video (other stuff drags much easier, as video requires more attention from the viewer)I've just finished the first pass of the audio version! This is where I aim to cut around 50% of the recording session, pruning the repeated lines, ums, silences and the lengthier off-topic bits that don't play into the main show. (eg equating a Liz promo to Niall in our bouncy castle fed!). The original session was 3hrs8m and I've cut it down to 1hr40m so it's about 5 minutes longer than I'd like it to be.The matches are divided into segments so I can keep tabs on how long each part is (in case something's being a time-hog, like Macho/Flair is here, clocking 14 minutes - I'd rather it was 10.) There's bits and bobs that might be better suited to a different part of the show, like we did a What Smokes after finishing the episode!We were supposed to record this last week so I spent a couple days already editing the beats of the video (going off the script I wrote) and collecting splicey-splicey of stuff I wanted to mention. It's all a big jigsaw puzzle that makes sense in my head!One thing I haven't worked out is how we'll tackle Woman (Nancy Benoit) in the show. It completely zaps the mood, as it's a delicate topic that is uncomfortable to talk about. This kind of stuff we're not good at covering either! I'll have to find a way to balance talking about it whilst not souring the segment.If you're wondering, "Common Files" is just that, where I keep stuff like the Calvin Harris intro, ABQ, Mean Gene, Billboard etc stuff that is seen in multiple episodes. Recently I've separated out main episodes, NoggerU exclusives (eg Super Mario, deleted scenes), Website videos (eg Leprechaun, Samurai Cop) and Super OSW 64 working folders.One of the last things that gets added to an episode is the music and match graphic placecards, I usually watch the segment and something comes to me.Any questions just ask!Jay
