OSW Update! (May) (Patreon)

Heya brahs and bras!Hope you’re having an easy-going day and kick & stunning people that are in the way! Bit of a different OSW Update for ya this week, let’s take a look-see!Here's my white board, which is extremely handy for mapping out what needs to be done. Why not an online spreadsheet? It’s tremendously satisfying filling in the boxes, and also physically scrubbing out a finished project!

Above you can see different aspects of what needs to be done for various OSW episodes to be finished. Things to note:• Not every project is pictured, like the next NU film review, Kung Fu Hustle• Every OSW episode takes about 4-6 weeks to complete; but the kicker is that you could have multiple videos being edited simultaneously; or mildly staggered, as long as the audio is finalised first.• I view OSW production as a conveyor belt of projects, so one thing can’t be finalised before another is off my plate• You can see more elements of a video is done the closer it is to release!• Some elements need a good bit of lead time; like an animated logo has to be fully drawn and finished before it can be animated, and it also depends on if the animator is free!• Turning Point has a “WCW White Hummer” segment that requires a lot of editing in a short time (it’s under 4m long) so i opted to bring in SoberDwarf to edit it (to take it off the plates of ‘main’ episode editors). SoberDwarf video edited the retrospective segments in our Metroid and God of War deep dives! I thought explaining the mystery of the White Hummer would be cool showcased as a Pepe Silvia moving corkboard :)

• Looking at the overview, we’ve actually recorded 5-6 episodes of OSW ahead of time (i say 5 or 6 as I don’t know whether MEM iMPACT/Genesis will be one show or two yet - it hasn’t been audio edited)• Each episode is actually a mishmash of 1 or more recording sessions; especially if something is time-sensitive (like since there may be a 2 month gap between when we record and when we release an episode!) Hopefully you can’t even tell!• OOC has been raring to record episodes but i had to tell him i need some time to get a video or two released so i can clear it from my plate, as u can see it’s a lot to keep track of at the same time! • This is total 'managerial' stuff, because each artist / editor / animator has communication, feedback and alterations to make their work the absolute best it can be!So this next bit is more for me, to get my head around what i’m doing for the next few weeks:

Ok! So we've a battle plan for the next week, first thing before anything else is finalising the MEM Impact/Genesis audio. But what's next on OSW?

So here's the next episode to be released, you can see there's a ton of boxes filled in, we're just waiting on the new logo to be animated, and V1's TNA game footage (which I think he did yesterday, so this picture is already out of date!) and then it's up to me to do 4-5 passes of the episode to wring every possible joke/point of interest out of the video, and then it's off to youtube for copyright clearance!Anywoo, hope you found this weirdo peek behind the curtain interesting!
