Stuart Gipp

It is actually Andi Hamilton! That Gipp, however, is dynamite!

QotM: my sleeper hit of the year so far is Tales of Kenzera: Zau. It is a Metroidvania put out under EA Originals that had an interesting style and setting you don't often see (I am not sure which African nation it is based on). It had the misfortune of coming out against Animal Well so that took all the Metroidvania focus.

Alex

Omg you mentioned Wanderstop! 🥰💖 lovely episode as always☺️

Wood Duck [Legacy Edition]

I love it when the content preview line of an email is "Hi folks, Diamond Feit here, bidding farewell..." Heart palpitations going strong for a second there!

An answer nobody asked for! I vividly remember seeing a flyer Christmas 1990 for clearance NES games. Two of the games were NARC and Ninja Gaiden 2. My uncle bought my cousin Ninja Gaiden 2 and I got NARC. The reason NARC was my only game that Christmas is because it was cheaper than Mario 3.

Stuart you got nothing be ashamed of by being a fan of Korone. Yuzo Koshiro is a big enough fan of hers that he made a song for her and her Sonic let's plays are so good that Sega decided to make her an official ambassador of the brand. I don't think you got a problem. I got a figure of her too. As long you didn't superchat her and post a video on your youtube channel where she says your name and title the video "Korone says it" I'd say your fine.

Craig

The way Stu described the Korone doll made me think of the Estelle Costanza doll from Seinfeld

Craig

I also want the Peter Guy MMORPG

Did Stu ever watch Grange Hill? I was half expecting him to mention Zammo's struggles with substance abuse and the cast's "Just Say No" song during your talk on NARC.

The Berserk musou game is on Steam and I really enjoyed it. If that’s something you were still looking for Stuart, it usually goes on sale during Steam sales, like the Summer sale that’s on now.

Answering the QotM: Whether or not it will ever become a sleeper hit, I don't know, but I would urge you, gentle listeners, NOT to sleep on Botany Manor. It's a very gentle first-person puzzler where you play as horticulture's answer to Lara Croft; pottering around your aging mansion and deciphering notes left behind by you and your forebears as you attempt to cultivate and thus preserve a series of plants and flowers with... let's just say 'unusual' properties. (Not druggy ones. It's not NARC. Nor Yoshi's Story.) Botany Manor's not interested in rewiring your brain to transcend linear thinking, it doesn't muck about with higher dimensions or parallel timelines, and it can be completed in an afternoon*. That's probably why I appreciated it so much. Not every puzzler has to outsmart Portal to be enjoyable, after all. It's on Game Pass, so I'm hoping that word-of-mouth will gradually lead to Botany Manor finding its audience. If you were a British games journalist in the 90s, you might even say it's a BLOOMING good game!!!!! But please don't. * Playing it at other times of day is illegal.

Me: *casually listening to video games podcasts* Stu: "Hymen!" Me: "Maybe I'm done for today."

Raven

Without even looking, because I haven't bought or played it yet: Sleeper hit of the year, EDF 6.

The Dune jokes at the end remind me of one of the repeated jokes that shows up in a Dune shitposting group I'm in: "Yeah, I love Dune--dune your mom."
