Have you heard about Princess Zelda? Apparently there's a legend of her... or something. While she started the series as kidnap-bait, she soon evolved to be a capable hero—and, at times, even a playable one. On this episode of Retronauts, join Bob Mackey, Maddie Copp, and Kevin Bunch as the crew gathers eight glowing triangles in order to summon the wisdom necessary for exploring the many facets of this queen-to-be.

Three Fridays in a row? Whatever did we do to deserve this?

I heard Zelda’s brother’s wizard friend knows a guy who knows a guy who can get you a Triforce real cheap.

Gayest Episode Ever

Zelda: Thank you for awakening me from my eons-long slumber, Link. Let me reward you with an open-mouthed kiss. Link: I’m good.

So there is actually is a GB Link's Awakening style fan remake of Zelda's Adventure. No idea if it is any good, but it made its way to a few news site last summer.

I realize that BotW isn't ten years old yet, but Zelda's arc in that game is the best in the series IMO. She has a very interesting journey in TotK too.

Regarding the continued mystery of Ganon's name: in the movie The Far Country the main bad guy is named judge Gannon. The characters aren't similar other than being villains.

Loved this one, I appreciated the Skyward Sword piece because, full disclosure, I remember the 1up review of it and people were mad because I think the rating was a B…which I felt was generous and probably involved a Wii Motion Plus that worked which I could never get to fully work on mine and I had to play through the entire game this way! Bleh! However, I did enjoy the story and the Zelda arc in particular was quite good as you get to see this evolution from friend of Link to capable adventurer to literal reincarnation of a goddess! You just have to battle the controls and Fi explaining what to do every five minutes to enjoy it!

I love that the most recent Zelda games have further emphasized Zelda's importance to the series and more specifically to Hyrule. Tears of the Kingdom in particular leans hard into the idea that Zelda is the beating heart of Hyrule and its populace, and it's very sweet.

Zelda is your father, obviously.

On the subject of famous real-life Zeldas, shout out to NYC’s own Zelda Harris of Crooklyn fame. Born one year before the game! Also Tetra rules!

Princess, wizard, telepath, ninja, pirate, biology nerd, legend. Other than robot and break dancer, Zelda has possessed every rad job.
