First thing's first: if the formatting below looks weird (oddly sized text perhaps), I'm throwing my hands up because somehow cutting & pasting text from my documents into Patreon has given me all kinds of trouble in recent weeks. I'm not about to write original text in THIS CMS, thank you very much!

With my complaining out of the way, please enjoy this latest community podcast. Stu is back! He says a few bad words! But not that one bad word he keeps threatening to say!

Look Smithers, Stu is coming (to the LI Retro Expo)

Normallyretro

I hate to miss MWGC this year but I have a trip to Vegas and yes, I would rather see Retronauts. Can't wait to listen, tho

Patrick McClafferty

QotM: I mangled this name for longer than I care to admit but unlike how most people mangle Gaiden, I called it Ninja Garden....oddly enough second podcast in recent weeks that I've had to admit that.

Craig

Speaking of baseball. The Yankees are home that entire weekend and following week. Vs Houston and Boston respectively which would make for some good watchin’

haughtybiscotti

QOTM: Definitely not the only one to have a grandparent call it "Pokeyman", as that's been widely discussed already. I think in the 2000s everyone had a different way to say "Damacy" stressing different syllables and even calling it "cata-marry duh-mashy". Though, nothing is more embarrassing than being an American growing up in rural California saying "in-VENT-ory" like someone from the UK, instead of "IN-ventory" like I was supposed to. This continued until my freshman year of college when a girl called me out on it and I never made that mistake again.

Craig

Born too early to discover new worlds. Born just in time to make the nauts crew say vagina bones

TheLupineOne

Alright, let's play the game. While istening to this podcast, a new episode of Retronauts dropped, being about Space Invaders. I guess that this would be a Jeremy episode... gosh darn it, it was a Kevin episode.

Grant Baxter

My dad once referred to Uncharted as "Unchartered."

Devon Dale

Must be a lot of retro gamers excited about the release of Suikoden—Vidjagame Apocalypse asked the exact same question last week ;)

PurpleComet

QotM: As a kid I pronounced Fiery Mario as "Fear-y Mario", until my older brother heard me and mocked me mercilessly. The proper pronunciation sounded wrong to me and the spelling threw me off. Now I can Google something if I'm not sure how to pronounce it.

Phoequinox

QotM: My older sister had a laugh at me as a kid when we played Ocarina of Time and, in the Sacred Forest Meadow, I pronounced it "Sack-rid". But I did not forget that just a few years earlier, while thumbing through a Mario 3 booklet, she loudly inquired "WHO'S LOOGIE?!"

Shrunken Shrine

A friend of mine thinks "those Satan worship games you like" are called Shine Megummy Tension

Wood Duck

Please tell me we'll get a bonus "a nice group chat about Switch 2 reveals" episode!

PurpleComet

Where I grew up they made a big stink about cartoons and video games with "occult influences", so seeing a pentagram on the cover of a SMT game is just wild to me.

Kirk

Thanks to Stuart for recommending The Binding of Isaac. I’m really enjoying it.

BlueWeaselBreath

I agree with Stuart the Gipp that people who say Alex the Kidd are annoying. Nobody ever used to say Alan the Ladd or Buddy the Guy. As far as other butcheries, I had a kid at camp tell me about a new awesome computer game called Deuce Ex.
