This week's patron-exclusive Friday episode should be comforting and familiarly to long-time listeners. We may not have Virtual Console to dunk on anymore, but gosh darn it if Nintendo Switch Online doesn't fill that same unsatisfying void in our lives. Anyway, the Retronauts East crew finally gets to take part in a grand tradition here, and it is Good. As you can tell by all the banter.

Special thanks this episode to Greg Leahy and Greg Melo for editing and illustrating this episode, respectively!

At 1:01:23, Benj says he wishes Nintendo Switch Online would add some of the interesting Famicom-only games that the West never saw, specifically naming Joy Mech Fight. To that point, I've got good news! Joy Mech Fight, (among others) is available on the Japanese-region equivalent of NES Online. It's as simple as making a Japanese-region user profile on your Switch and download the Famicom/Super Famicom apps from the eShop

Sims has convinced me that I should give Brawl Brothers another try, as I only remembered it as Not Strets of Rage Good when I was in high school.

Puyo puyo can be used like “love handles” to affectionately describe a person’s excess skin/weight

Between this and the Super Mario RPG episode, the new 5$ tier has provided me with a fantastic time on this dreary Sunday. Keep it up, Retronauts!

Kung Fu Heroes is horrible?! That's it, if I get some spare money to be able to choose a topic, I'm going to have you folks do one on Culture Brain so you will have to play Super Chinese and it's sequels along with the Hiryu no Ken series.... MARK MY WORDS. But seriously, this is just an opinion thing, I like Culture Brain's jankiness, I can't explain it.

Oh snap? This was the editing of the new staff? Awesome! REALLY dope art, also!

Brawl Brothers (and Tuf E Nuf) were also released on a multicart by retro-bit like Joe & Mac. It's an interesting collection.

Great episode! Now I need to check out Brawl Brothers!

Surprised no one gave a shout out to River City Ransom. That is without a doubt one of the most "bang for your buck" games one could ask for on NES. You got co-op play, RPG elements, side-scroll beat 'em up. As for games I'd like to see come to this, how about a few strategy games like Desert Commander and North & South (which was really hard for me to find a cart for for some reason) for NES, and Populous for SNES

NEED Earthbound and Earthbound Zero and actually translations of all the classic Fire Emblem games for NES and SNES. Genealogy would be amazing on mobile with save states 😭

The retronauts east crew is really shining. I get the more old school retronauts vibe here (in my opinion a little looser and more casual). Don't get me wrong though; I enjoy all the new content, but glad to see this group setting them selves apart. 👍👍
