We've reached the holiday season once again, so it's time to strap on your survival gear and head out for yet another trip to the Retronauts Cabin in parts unknown. For this year's Christmas-appropriate topic, we've landed on Home Alone: the humble 1990 family comedy that went on to dominate the box office with its slapstick antics and important messages about the importance of togetherness or whatever. And since it's a kids' movie from the early '90s, oh you better believe there's a bunch of video games based on it.

On this very special episode, join Bob Mackey, Henry Gilbert, and Dave Rudden as the crew pops open a fresh bag of Crunch Tators and digs into this holiday classic and its lighthearted take on child endangerment. And in case you're wondering, this podcast has been approved by the American Dental Association.

Playing Splatoon right now and the map shows a section called "parts unknown" and I like to think that's where you guys are.

I’ve seen this movie a dozen times or so in the past few years because of my kids, and yes- it absolutely holds up for all ages. Also the least annoying Christmas movie that my kids will reliably watch

The TalkBoy humiliation joke just caught me off guard… lol

Great to hear Diamond Dog Dave Rudden back on the podcast. Home Alone is an all-time classic for my family, we still watch it at some point in the range of Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day annually, though my preferred spot for it is Christmas Eve when possible. -- I'm a bit younger than y'all and my older siblings never had any of the Home Alone games, so I don't think I saw a second of any of them until watching a stream of the SNES game a few years back (I think featuring Dave?) and was... astounded at what it was. Hearing about the *2006* PS2 game is hilarious to me, and the fact that it was European-exclusive explains a lot really. -- The only thing I'd add to the ideas about a GOOD Home Alone game that weren't mentioned on the episode is (half-jokingly) taking from the Arkham games' predator sequences for once the Wet Bandits make it to the McAllister house on Xmas Eve.

Ha! "CM Punk Flag"! That's wonderful.

You skipped the gameboy version. Which is the only one I had! hahahah, it was very bad. Growing up in the north Chicago suburbs we would take yearly treks to the home alone house to see Christmas lights. And on that note I was in john Hughes holiday follow up, the miracle on 34th street remake, at 12
