Kept you waiting, huh? I (Diamond Feit) have returned from my month abroad and I bring a small gift: Jeremy and I recorded a podcast just for you, our loyal Patreon supporters, while hanging out in our designated booth at Retro World Expo in Hartford, Connecticut. It's on the short side compared to our other monthly episodes, but I think the presence of Jeremy and the raw experience of hearing NBA Jam's Tim Kitzrow riffing in the background make it a fun listen. Don't forget to answer our question in the comments below; we'll return with another community episode in just a few weeks.

(My weekly columns will also return soon, thanks for your patience)

Art, photo, & edits by me. The dog's name is Honey, by the way! Music heard in this episode:

7:57 the opening for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

12:19 the opening for Babylon 5

18:13 "Pacific" by Kyoto's own Chip Tanaka

23:01 "Eternal Wheel" by Ozric Tentacles

31:03 "Drive-In At Night" (Street Fighter IV)

42:29 "First Steps" (Celeste)

51:03 "Staff Roll 2 (Orchestra)" (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D)

Finale: "Killt's Hidden Treasures" (Bionic Commando ReArmed)

The game a re-buy, no questions asked, whenever it shows up in a new format or console is Link's Awakening. I've gone so far as to play the Switch remake and GBC versions side-by-side on Switch and Analogue Pocket. The remake has some subtle quality of life adjustments that really don't get enough credit.

I just... Can't with these public recordings. They are so hard to hear anything.

In the game Omori, there's a drink called Orange Joe, which is orange juice mixed with coffee, and under no circumstances should anyone drink it in real life like you did, Jeremy.

Since Symphony of the Night is already been brought up, I'll go with the other game I would also rebuy every time it's re-released, Megaman X. Whether it's the original cart, the PS2 X collection, the modern legacy collection, Maverick Hunter X twice on different Playstation portables or Wii virtual console I have bought it many times over and will probably pick it up again if they do another remake/collection.

I love these off-the-cuff conversations on Retronauts, but I'd like to make a suggestion for how to make them a bit better audio quality. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GYD55JF?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_k0_1_12&amp=&crid=1GMQUAV6TMHB1&sprefix=dji%2Bwireless&th=1 This is a wireless audio recorder with a built in mic (no lav required), just clip it to your shirt (or use the included magnetic piece) and you're good to go. The audio quality is great and it gets very clean vocals. The receiver can be plugged into a smartphone to create a master recording, but each transmitter has a built in recorder for higher quality audio and no fear of signal issues. I've been using this wireless system as an independent filmmaker and the quality and usability has been amazing. Hopefully this helps

Just want to say that I don't mind the conference audio at all!

Huh, on hearing the question this month I thought "hah I must easily have a few titles I slavishly buy every instance of!" but even my most cherished retro Nintendo titles that have seen many reissues I can't completely honestly say I have purchased and played EVERY time they've been re-released or virtual console'd... and being a big PC gamer that stuff mostly never needs to be re-created or ported!

The audio quality wasn't great, but I loved the format! I wouldn't want this format for every Retronauts episode, but it's a fun change of pace in my opinion. I don't play video games nearly as much as I used to (or want to), but the closest answer I can come up with is FF6. I bought the original on SNES and played it for hours on end. I'm pretty sure I bought an early garbage iOS version that I bought and never played for more than 15 minutes. When the pixel remaster came out, I bought it immediately. I haven't even launched the game yet; all I did was look at the concept art that came with the purchase. Given this history, I probably shouldn't buy the next FF6 release, but I probably will anyways...
