Jeremy: Technically, that header should say 1984 & 1994. But we don't talk that much about ’84. It's more of a mop-up, really. A quick wrap-up that takes, uhh, about a third of the podcast's total running time. Barely anything, really.

Diamond Feit, Stuart Gipp, Kevin Bunch, and Jared Petty join this episode for a rather crowded room... or a room that would be crowded, if only we weren't all very separate from one another (in some cases by a matter of thousands of miles). But while we can't be together in person, we can at least be united by the fact that we have some opinions about things that happened in 1994. So that's something!

I will always immediately associate ‘94 with the Play It Loud campaign, and Fruitopia was the drink of choice.

I was 6 years old in 1994 and I already had an NES (thank you young parents) and a Genesis…Christmas that year I finally got a Super Nintendo with Donkey Kong Country, Mario World, and Mario All Stars. 1994 was a very good year for me gaming wise and this was mentioned on the pod but stuff I didn’t totally get a handle on at the time (again, I was 6) like Super Metroid and Final Fantasy VI, I came back to years later and found them to be absolute masterworks and I also remember going to arcades back then which not only had the great fighting games mentioned on the pod, but all the beat em ups and the 80s classics were still there too. Anyways I’ve gone on too long but I love these year in review pods and 1994 was a special year for me as it turns out!

That Pac-Man 2 cover art looks like the dude who makes those movie posters in Ghana took a stab at it

In early '95 I bought a clear Gameboy (which at the time was still marked as 'limited edition' on the card inserts inside the plastic clamshell case - later they just removed that from the packaging) and a copy of Donkey Kong '94. I'd not heard anything about it, I didn't have any magazine subs or anything, I just bought it because it looked good. So that was accidently excellent. I've been playing through it again on my Analogue Pocket lately, it's still amazing.
