Here we have our monthly update, for all of you to enjoy!

https://mega.nz/#!lYw3XTCa!RsTUFCE1oqNnjJbtx2W6B6JkHbawoVVTs5KCVBJUvZ0

The changelog includes the following:

2 new scenes with Carla (during the "gym publicity" events);

Improved the slave contest (the other girl has a face and a bust now, we have some better descriptions here and there, visual and sound effects, etc);

Expanded the main quest (now you can meet the professor Alpharius mentions, to learn more about your uncle's situation, multiple solutions);

1 new mage guild quest;

1 new Ariel scene;

2 new scenes with Tania, a new NPC (related to the new mage guild quest);

Added "demo" for the pregnancy system (right now, only the baker can get you pregnant);

First use for the TF you unlocked in the last temple (you should get a magic circle to appear in your room, which works as the point from where to use the new TF as well as explain/remind the basic idea behind it). Right now, you can take the appearance of a certain heroine from the adventurers guild, which you should see if you walk around the guilds in Tarkas (from chapter 2 and onward). Next on the list is transforming into the hero from the mage guild;

Known bugs fixed this time around:

Fixed image staying on screen for the random encounter with a pickpocketer;

Fixed being unable to lose during the slave competition;

Fixed incorrectly being treated as being in Rahib when you are in Tarkas;

Fixed rain sound effect staying on when you look outside the window from your mansion;

Fixed graphical issue with the health piece in Golden Leaf;

For the pregnancy system, I am releasing this as a test, to see if there is interest in what I could do with it, so it's not fully implemented (I didn't want to put too much effort into it, if the idea isn't appreciated). The baker is the only one that can get you pregnant (provided you pray for allowing pregnancies at Santhora's temple), and you should be able to follow the events from there (the only perhaps missable part is Erica telling you to maybe visit the doctor the day after she gets pregnant).

As always, bug reports and suggestions are welcome! ^_^Edit:P.S.

Would any of you be willing to write a walkthrough for the game, assuming I'd pay 50$ once it's done? I feel like people are really starting to need one, but it can be time consuming to write, and I find it particularly annoying, so if anyone is interested, let me know, you'll spare me the trouble. XD

Oh dear, I'm starting to get lost in the NPC names. :D Time for another thorough playthrough.

mdqp

It's still an early test, to see if people would like this idea, so make sure to let me know if you like the concept, once you get to try it out. ^_^

mdqp

Maybe I should have gone with a smaller world, making the game easier to navigate and the characters more memorable. Sometimes it's confusing for me as well. XD

Chris Simon

No, I love the world you've created. Most of my gameplay consists of running around and getting into all kinds of trouble. But I have terrible memory andI'm really bad with names and faces. IRL, too. :D I guess once you're done and don't have anything to do, a proper wiki and/or a game guide would be a nice thing to have.

mdqp

Well, once I am done with this, I'll likely be working on the next game. I really hope I don't have to work on the walkthrough myself, as that one will take some time away from me for sure, but I do realize it's a bit of a requirement in this day and age to have a guide of some sorts.

mdqp

I am sure there aren't many attempting to write one. (or else I wouldn't consider paying a bounty for it XD) If you have any questions or doubts about the game, do let me know, so I can help you improve the walkthrough.

Chris Simon

I've been gaming for over 30 years and I've never needed a walkthrough, but I do like general guides or just a compact knowledge base to orient myself in the game. Though I am a bit ashamed of that. I play Caliross for how many months and don't know squat.

Azure

I suppose I could try a walkthrough? Never written one before, but I can do what I can to explore the game in-depth and try to have answers to solutions and try to find every single bad end you've made...

Azure

... I mean, how hard could it be? He asked knowing he would regret those words already...

FrozenPixel

Had a quick look for the new npc but can't find them, where are they?

mdqp

Oops, forgot to mention that she is related to the mage guild quest, she appears after you finish it.

FrozenPixel

Ahh that would be why then, thanks

mdqp

Sounds like there are more people than I expected willing to try this out! You are the third one. :D I really do hope things work out, some people play the game only every now and then when it's still in development, so it's nice for them to have a guide.

mdqp

I don't use guides personally (unless I like the game and decide I want to know more/get better at it), but it's nice to have something at the ready for the odd case when things are harder to follow or someone played too long ago to remember exactly what they had to do next.

mdqp

Yeah, I wrote it in the permanent changelog, I think, but I forgot to add it here. I'd better edit this post, just in case.

Chris Simon

The only reasonwhy I'd appreciate a guide to Caliross is because although I can read the list of all the things you've added, I rarely have any idea how to get to them, so I usually just play the game again and hope I run into them. :D Which is not always the case, because more often than not I forget I wanted to get to the new stuff and end up enslaved or cowified. :P

Chris Simon

What else do you rub in excitement, I wonder. :P

cdossy

It can't be that hard for a walkthrough, right? Ron Howard voice: It would be.

mdqp

I'll mark this down as "working as intended", then. XD

mdqp

No, but since her content isn't finished, I might have left it repeatable.

King Chavez

Where to find the map of caliross?

mdqp

You can find one in the market near the Bazaar (one of the stands sells them).

Troqu

Ha I was just thinking of asking if there was a wiki somewhere (which might be more useful than a guide tbh since it will be easier to learn about specific content) as well as an overarching changelog. It's been a few months since I had time to play new builds but now that I'm recovering from a surgery it seemed like a good idea, but I'm completely lost...

mdqp

You can find a link to the changelog on the opening page of my Patreon. There is also a link to my personal notes there, which give a slightly more detailed (but messy) account of what's in the game. As for a proper guide/walktrhough, maybe we'll get one, seems like there are a few people possibly interested in writing one, so fingers crossed. :)

Taylor Hughes

Not sure if this is a bug or not - but when I went to the Bunnygirl place (apologies for forgetting the name) at night, I was able to be hypnotized by the owner over and over again all in the same night. It never advances time. Even when I went to get piercings, enhancements, and tattoos for her, the time never advanced. Additionally, after falling into this hypnosis cycle, I wanted to begin working at the club. At that point, I discovered that I can't. I don't know if the club jobs were removed in an update, or if this is a bug somehow related to doing so much hypnosis before beginning employment. The lady on the second floor tells me to get the owner's permission so I can work there, and the owner just hypnotizes me over and over, some events even repeating themselves. Regardless, love the game and this content, which I don't know whether is new or not, but it's terrific.

mdqp

Technically not a bug. I wasn't sure if I wanted to waste a time slot for players when they talk to her, so I have left it as it is for now, but I should settle on how to handle it (maybe limit it to once per day, but without consuming a time slot). If you are hypnotized because you are wearing the outcast pendant, you go on a different path, and that one doesn't allow you to work at the casino, unless you got the job before.

Taylor Hughes

How do I go about beginning the "noble" path and doing the quests involving Carla? I'm stumped. -_-

mdqp

For the noble path, you need to progress through the main quest, and visit the guild(s) you are a part of. Eventually, you'll be informed that a noble might have been kidnapped. You can find the person looking for him in the barracks, and that's the start of this quest. Once you finish it, you also have a chance to try and become a noble (it's a different quest). There are no "quests" for Carla, but once you start her romance, you can visit her at home, if you do that and keep training, eventually you'll get offered to help her attract customers to her gym.

King Chavez

Hm, I bought the map, but she tells me, she doesn't need it now...?

mdqp

Did you get help from Alpharius to find the temple? If you do that, he tells you where the place is, and you don't need to use the map to find the temple ( I still allow players to buy the map, in case I want to use it for more puzzles).

King Chavez

Pretty sure I did. He also told me to look for the lake near solina

mdqp

You should go straight west from that lake, the temple is actually in the mountains, the lake is just a point of reference (Alpharius also tells you to go west from there). Maybe I can bold the text, so it's easier to catch it during the gameplay.

Narf

There's something I'm curious about............ I have -never- done the "kill slime" quest (Haunted Forest or so it's called) because "only doing bodyguard" is enough to advance to Nobleman Party quest................ so, for once I was thinking I'll do it -- and noticed: Everywhere where there are slimes in Maker, there is none in Game, no singles, no slimegirl surrounded by slimes......... I checked more and am thinking the slime pregnancy thingy messed the quest up, or one must set a certain (monster only?) flag in Temple? This is weird.....

cdossy

multiple bug report related to the female adventurer NPC. Going to the bathhouse and trying to get the adventurer to take a bath with you results in the one sprite in the water and the "original" sprite both existing simultaneously. If you try to step out the water you get stuck in a dialogue loop of "i cant leave" (or whatever that textbox says). Also happens for spell cursors ( I though I might have to use hand of fire on her at one point) Once I get booted out the bath from "try to befriend her, the game doesn't let me enter again the next time I visit and I get the "I should put on my clothes" textbox. Also, if you can visit Professor without convincing him you're Lanessa, you still get the "welcome Lanessa!" intro

Narf

Interesting: Advancing to Chapter 2 autokills the quest (turns it Red in Log) - but then suddenly the slimes spawn...... So my guess is the Quest is dead

mdqp

Fixed the issues (and yes, you were supposed to use hand of fire on her, you were right, but it was bugged). I wasn't expecting the warning to appear when casting spell (every now and then some interactions surprise me), but it's fixed now. The welcome Lanessa was just a bit of dialogue misplaced, you actually get a different (and better) treatment from him if you manage to go in there while looking like Lanessa (although it seems like the bugs made it impossible). I'll release the hotfix soon, seems like there are already enough issues for this release.

mdqp

If you do the quest in chapter 1, you need to use detect magic to find the slime girl (by following her trail up to a tree). If you don't do the quest until chapter 2, the quest fails, and normal slimes start roaming the forest (they are actually a consequence of failing the quest).

I'm Just Me

I'd like to second the wiki idea. I'll gladly contribute if someone else sets it up and creates a general organization :)

mdqp

Some people showed interest in writing a walkthrough, but I don't know if anyone is considering a wiki. I guess that would be nice, considering the game isn't completely linear.

mdqp

I have to ask, maybe you are confusing this for a different game? Can't say I recognize any of the names here. XD

DramaCoach69

I would love a walkthrough. I have been doing what seems to be a lot of aimless wandering. if nothing else, maybe a guide to key characters. like the owner of the Queen of Hearts.

mdqp

It seems like someone is already making good progress on a walkthrough, so you might be in luck. I am sure many people would like one, since the game has grown quite a bit.
