That's what I imagine Edith said at her 18th birthday party to the guests, anyway. Keeping in mind the poll results, I have been focusing on bringing some of the jobs to their completion, and the number one pick was Edith. She will now properly humiliate you from start to finish, breaking your feeble mind into worshipping her properly, or something very close to this. We have 3 brand new scenes for her so far, and I expect her path to be over with another 3-4 of them.

I am thinking if I want ways for players to select which random scene they get after the path is over, if I should have brand new scenes or if I should change the structure completely, once she "gets you" for good.

After Edith is over, it will be the turn of the inn. There are a few loose threads there (from the pervert couple, to the possible fashion model job, as well as the other events), so it will be a challenge to pick and choose. Hopefully, we give a proper resolution to all of them, since I assume some of them won't have much more to offer (I mean, once you join in on the fun with the couple, I don't think I want to offer more progression beyond that).

Anyway, I'll work my way through as much of the job-related content, to make sure there are no more loose ends, and I'll work a bit more on the main quest (trying to get your hometown up and running, so we can have your parents yell at you for being an awful daughter, as it should be :p), and depending on how much time I have left, maybe work on adding the TF into the mage hero to the game. I should also start introducing possible issues with this type of transformation, if you re-use it without completing your goal too many times, you'll potentially get a bad end, forgetting who you were, or get some temporary futa-goodness with Erica, when she can't fully turn back at first. That's the plan anyway.

I am still waiting on people to let me know of what they think of the idea behind the pregnancy stuff. I know it's just a demo, but I think it's enough to understand what the idea would be like, and if you'd like it or not. Do let me know, so that I can decide if I need some adjustments to it, or if I can move forward without worries.

This should be all for now. Until next week! ^_^

Namerok Shadow

I quite enjoyed what there was, although a little unsure of what "let what happens happens" and "I NEED BABIES" had different. A better random roll? Does "Monsters are good" exclude humans? I would maybe have the prayer be 1 question, but I like praying fitting with the theme the game has used this whole time ^.^

Namerok Shadow

As fot the pregnancy itself... It took me a while to find the doctor (I totally forgot, and I'm not sure if Gaspar tells you on his tour) The "strain" of adventuring and transforming ending a pregnancy is neat. Maybe a temple guardian could tell you about that piece of history. And while a bit generic of an end (I was hoping for a little more specific to the father that impregnated you) it will fit most NPCs well (though the cheating bar husband will be exciting)

Tanner

Well, I'm sure your parents will be too proud of their noble daughter to yell at her. Meh, who am I kidding... They'll probably yell at her for not moving them into the new mansion.

mdqp

I need babies guarantees you'll get pregnant as soon as you meet a scene that allows it. In-game, if you don't go to the doctor for 3 days, you are automatically "not-pregnant", however, so people can still opt out that way. I'll also add pills so that you can get avoid the risk for a day, even if you have it set to always get pregnant.

Namerok Shadow

That makes sense. But with a goddess of fertility to pray to for babies, I think that "praying for safe sex" would fit better whith game themes instead of adding an extra mechanic (that could also introduce new bugs). I'm just thinking simpler is easier here.

mdqp

You are right, I actually don't mention it in the tour, (I'll reprimend Gaspar, and make sure he does from now on). I should also give the doctor some dialogue about him being a gynecologist, even before you get pregnant. I kept the ending a bit generic, but I can probably expand it for relevant NPCs (while having a generic "single mother" ending if the guy is unknown or a terrible person that would rather run away). I could also add some bits of gameplay to them, but I don't want to make promises, as it might be a lot of work, potentially.

mdqp

She will get yelled at for not going there sooner, that's for sure. XD

Namerok Shadow

For my love of corruption/mind control themes, I love seeing three main parts: Who the chara is before the events, struggling (and specifically what they think and do) during the events, and finally an "epilouge" of who they are afterwards. Not that the epilouge is bad here (seriously thank you for this great game!), but the genericness makes it a bit short.

mdqp

Which one do you think should be renamed to "safe sex"? And with extra-mechanic, do you mean the pill? I actually thought of the pills for 2 reasons: one being that you might want to have a safe night, but the temple closes at night (or if you are too far away and going back would be annoying), and the other is that it seems to "fit", and could be used even after the sex, if you meet something unexpected and want to make sure you are not pregnant because of it. Of course, it's not a top priority, since I give players the 3 days to simply avoid going to the doctor to "unimpregnate" themselves.

mdqp

I think I get the idea, and as I said, I will probably improve on the ending, this was mainly to get things started, since I changed my plans for pregnancies quite suddenly.

Namerok Shadow

I was thinking praying to the goddess for safe sex would work better than a pill in lore. While there are some modern themes in game, it's still generally a midevil fantasy genre, so a pill feels a little out of place to me. But you are right the church does close at night and you can still get into "situations" before you go to bed. While harsh the 3 day straining your body or doctor's instant pregnancy are mechanics we have already.

mdqp

Don't worry, it will be an alchemical pill of some sorts, 100% lore appropriate! ;p But yeah, I get what you mean, I still think it could be too convenient to have it in the game, for me to simply pass on it. The 3 days I was referring to is the amount of time you have to see the doctor before the pregnancy "expires". Is a mechanic there mainly to avoid people ignoring the warning, not going to the doctor, and never progressing the pregnancy. Basically, it's a way to avoid the game logic from breaking (you get a message informing you that the feeling you had is gone, and that you were probably wrong about it), without having to force the players to the hospital (although I could use this alternative, instead, and force the visit to take place because you feel sick or something similar).

Namerok Shadow

I get what you mean too. I just thought it was a little overdone when you already had a contraceptive (praying) to add a second one (pills). And I like the 3 days pregnancy expiring mechanic. You litrerally transform your body and adventure around the country on a daily basis (or at least get milked and spend your nights flashing people), so it's a good way to "skip" pregnancy. Though for annoying programming, maybe a prayer avoids pregnancy being skipped and you are forced to the doctor, or monsters (so excited) are too tough to be skipped and also land you in the hospital.

Onedrift

Oh man, more Edith? I have a mighty need! And aww, maybe a 'bad end' (that you have to choose) for the pregnancy freaks, where they turn you into the wet-nurse/maid that cares for all of the kids they have?

tiff

so so excited about the edith scenes, wonderful news :)

mdqp

The finer details are the hardest to settle down on, but I think the current version is already decent as far as options for the players and design, without being too complicated, so it's probably going to be minor tweaks, unless someone brings up some important stuff to change my mind.

mdqp

You mean something like, if you hit 10 pregnancies, you unlock a special ending where you decide to leave adventuring behind, since you found your true calling? XD

Regarding Edith: First of all: Fuck yes. Furthermore: I think after Edith "got" you, the game could turn into a minigame similar to the Malene path from Tales of the Drunken Cowboy, only, of course, more adapted to what Edith wants you to be and do. Another question regarding her path: When she wants you to worship her feet, you can choose to be eager or hold back as options for continuing the path, but the sequence after did very little to differentiate between the two options. The only difference I saw was that it took a few more days of working there to trigger the new scene, with the scene itself panning out completely the same. Considering how the scene looks, it feels a bit weird if you were still on the "Edith wants to get rid of your edges" path. Do you have any plans for these two options here? And maybe I'm a bit too ambitious/crazy with this, but I'd really like it if while you are still on the "holding back" path (so, if you always took the second option in her dialogues) the event of her "breaking" you stands out more. I think you would be missing out on a chance to have the game truly simulate the "you're getting mentally defeated" part if it was a mere choice, for example. So what I would propose, make Edith overcoming your resistances a battle or a minigame that the player needs to actually lose before incurring consequences, and having it repeat more difficult the next time they work there, while if they succeed they are still resisting her. An example of a minigame I had in mind is that the player sees a message from Edith on the screen that ridicules the player, and he has to input a specific sequence of arrows that he sees on the screen to dismiss the message. The longer the message stays, the faster a bar on the side fills, while the bar empties when you get rid of a message. If the bar is full, Edith breaks your resistance. Everytime you win the minigame, the bar would fill faster, or the message on the screen would get bigger since she gains more traction in your mind and the message actually blocks out part of the arrow sequence you need to see etc. At some point, the minigame literally becomes unbeatable, which is fine since the player probably wanted that to happen to him anyways if he kept going there. I think this is the most visceral experience a player could have of getting the reistance of his character broken, but I have no idea how much work that would be. If you choose to try this idea and need any help, don't hesitate to ask me.

mdqp

We could actually have something like that, although I wonder if people would prefer it to be more free-form (as in, you can go there and stay one day or more), or if I should go for the extended ending and make it more final. The ending is more appealing to me (it makes it seem Edith's influence is greater). Maybe I can add a way to rollback, so people can see the ending, and quickly get out without having to reload a previous save file once they are bored. I wasn't considering Edith as a proper "romantic option", since I don't really have them in the game yet (I am not sure if I want to add them in a formal way), so as far as the choice between eager and reluctant go, I wasn't really sure how different I would want them to be, but I didn't consider them as two branches. There is also the issue that adding a completely different path might be too much work. I am not sure exactly how I want to tackle this. I guess I could have more choices throughout the scenes, and have a fork where the relationship leads to the ending, and one where you can just go visit her (and get more or less the same content, so that I can keep my sanity XD). I am not sure about a minigame testing your reflexes for this one, maybe a better one would be picking the proper retort among a list of replies, to deflect her insults, but I am afraid a minigame would just break the pacing of the scenes.

Aspectof4

Yea, the option to rollback seems fine. Fair point about the two different paths. My issue about picking the proper retort is that it again means that after playing the scene a couple times, it is completely up to the player if he wants to get beaten, since they will know what the wrong and right answer is. Basically, the only way for her to beat you, is if you let her, which feels disappointing, and which wouldnt happen with a game of "skill" of some sort. I don't think that anyone would be bothered if the pace was shaken up a bit during a scene if the following product is good enough to warrant it. I feel as if that would be alright in this case, but you probably have more experience than me on that topic.

mdqp

I figure a rollback is always nice when possible, to save some time. I generally don't like mini-games that are supposed to represent x (in this case, mental resistance) having nothing to do with x in their execution (testing the player's reflexes feels arbitrary). Maybe a scene where Erica tries to resist Edith, by trying not to think sexy thoughts by solving math problems, but everytime she gets it wrong or takes too much time she gets closer to her climax? XD Maybe something like this, properly themed, could be funny, and still fit, but it still feels like a bit too much work to get where we want.

Aspectof4

What if Edith gives you a somewhat lengthy comment, and you have the choice of either reading it because you like it, or clicking it away, and if you take your time by actually reading her comments (=giving in to her) you run out of time? I think that would have the closes correlation between mental resistence in the game, and in the situation. I totally get that this would probably mean too much work for what its worth, especially since this is probably pretty much the opposite of a frequently-requested feature, so I get it if you don't think its worth the trouble. Thanks for replying and entertaining my idea, looking forward to the next release!

Onedrift

Hehehe, while awesome. More I was thinking that the couple in the Inn get pregnant and offer Erica a more permanent position as a live at home maid. With a lot of sexually charged "convincing"

DramaCoach69

I love the pregnancy. I would, however, like to see it not be an end of the game condition if the MC chooses to keep the baby but not go through the accelerated process. I loved the artwork used for the breeder choice. Perhaps, the MC can still be bred even if she is just a milker, but progress on her studies will slow down. Would love to see more random opportunities for pregnancy, as well.

mdqp

I think the mini-game is not worth it, but I'll take some time to think about the other suggestions, and see if I can add/do more with the choices during her path. I hope next month will be interesting as well. ^_^

mdqp

Well, the split between accelerated and normal pregnancy was created specifically because a normal pregnancy would never fit the game easily so changing the normal pregnancy isn't really possible (it would destroy what little believability the game has, no matter how I handle it). Do you mean you'd like for the farm to "borrow" Erica for breeding if she works as a cow outside, or that you'd like the two endings for the farm to intermingle a bit? We will definitely have more random opportunities for pregnancy, this was just a test to see if people could be interested in this approach, after all, I'd like to add much more to it.

mdqp

I think that might be an interesting little bad end. I'll add a rollback to it, so people don't have to waste time, and it will be a "simple" choice (with some sexy "convincing", as you mentioned).

DramaCoach69

I totally understand the limitations of a normal pregnancy. I do like the idea of the farm to cal in Erica for “breeding breaks,” as it were and stil within the confines of the game. I don’t think I have progressed far enough in the game to know if the contact with the Zanti noble at the party has any further development, but an occasion such as that where Erica’s talents are needed without ending the game would be an idea.

mdqp

Did you get the mini-quest from Tim? He also has something for you to do once you have become a "fulltime" cowgirl (if you tell him you are too busy to stop by, he lets you know about a little something he needs help for). I do plan for some more quests and extra scenes related to your loyalty to the Zanti family, but they aren't in the game yet.

DramaCoach69

I haven’t received it yet. I will try it out. Thanks

Mephz

which character was edith again? Been a while since I played

mdqp

The singer at the tea house.

AlwaysGrowing

Well it has been quite awhile since I checked out the game, I had things going on in my life and recently had my hard-drive die on me (and just got that replaced).... so there will be a LOT to catch up on now. :o As per usual I'll keep an eye on grammar/spelling errors if I see any.

mdqp

Soon you'll also have a walkthrough to consult, should you need the help. :) I hope you won't find too many mistakes, but at least I am happy to know another pair of eyes is on the case.

Mephz

is 0.81B the most recent version? don't see a link in this post

mdqp

This is just the dev blog post, I write one every week. For the game's link, if you go to the main page, pick the "posts" tab, you can find the old post with the link. You can also filter with the tags on the left side of the screen ("New release", in this case).
