Another month, another update! Since I focused more on quests and the like, we don't get a lot of scenes, but hopefully people will appreciate the new quest and the progress on what will eventually be chapter 6. There are still a couple of new scenes for the harem, as you can now start dating the Emperor, if you were picked during the previous event as his favourite.

Next month, we'll continue focusing on gameplay, but for now, I hope you'll enjoy the update!

Here is the changelog:

Preferences are now global, insted of being tied to the save files (you'll need to copy "my project" folder between releases, to keep the settings);

Added "Options" to the main menu, to go with the above change;

new adventurer quest (available from chapter 4 onward);

2 new harem scenes;

How do I become the emperors favorite?

You must impress him positively (to start, go talk to him in chapter 3 and 4, and make sure to develop Golden Leaf as much as you can before you visit him a second time), when you enter the harem, also use the extra dialogue options you get (I think after the first brunch), and make sure to flirt with him. Basically, you need to flirt at least 3 times with him overall (2 flirts are "free", as you can just go talk to him and do that in the throne room, and the first time you flirt you also improve your relationship with him), and he must appreciate you enough (sit next to him at the brunch, so you can pick flirty or non-flirty options, depending on whether or not you haven't reached your "3 flirts" yet). Note that there are more ways to increase his relationship still (for example, you can complete a quest for him, involving an investigation about the trafficking of mana crystals), but you should be able to get the points you need without it (the whole path might get a slight rework in the future, if I add more chances to increase your relationship and flirt with the Emperor).

I did the new "Trial By Fire" quest and cleared all of them including the Ogre, but I cannot turn in and it still says "clear the lower floor of all monsters" as incomplete. Is this a bug?

That would be a bug, yes. Are you sure no other monsters are left? How many did you kill?

3 sets of the slimes, 1 set of the little wisps, 1 imp, and the Ogre. I got the dialogue that said "This should be it, even if I find more..."

That's all of them. Could you send me your savefile? I'd like to see what's going on.

I rolled back the savefile and it completed. The only thing I did different was I surrendered to the fire ogre on the bugged version to see if I would get a scene. I woke up in the hut outside the cave but the Erica sprite never did the standing up animation. She was just laying down and sliding on the ground all the way back to the fire ogre. Killing him fixed the sprite but locked out the quest. On the reload I just went up and killed him and all worked fine.

I still have the save from when I first entered the Volcano, I could probably re-create the issue and then send up a save file if you would like.

If you think you can recreate the issue, then please do, and send me the savefile. I fixed the sprite issue when waking up, in the meantime, thanks for letting me know.

I see. Did you kill the ogre before you finished killing all the monsters on the previous floor? Or did you break the wall before killing all monsters on the floor?

Killed all the monsters and then broke the wall on the first time it bugged. On the second playthrough to recreate I killed all but the imp, then broke wall, then killed the imp, then went down for the ogre. It definitely seemed related to the surrendering to him and then re-attacking with the sprite still glitched.

I fixed the issue which appears when you break the wall before killing all the monsters, but I am not sure what could have caused it the first time around. The "floor clear" is calculated before interacting with the ogre, after all.

Are the new scenes just for the Queen path? I did the exact same things both with and without the "slut rep" but he only chooses me if I have a clean reputation. Is this intentional or a bug?

It's not intentional, and it shouldn't be a bug either. Are you sure you missed none of the dialogues? If you skip visiting him in chapter 3 or don't have a well-developed Golden Leaf when you talk to him in chapter 4, you'll be short in relationship points (making up for it with the extra quest mentioned could possibly fix it). Until I add an extra event or two, the margins are thin.

It was the same save file with all the same prerequisites completed (Maxed out Golden Leaf/Talked to him in chapter 3/and completed the mana crystal quest) the only difference is right before I talked to the Priestess to start it, I did the topless scene at the beach to get my "Slut Rep" up.

And the flirting is the same in both scenarios as well? Would it be too much trouble to ask you to send me both files?
