So, another month (+ 1 week) passed us by, and another release comes about. I did add some extra spice to the Spider lady encounter (hopefully people like it), I wrote a bonus scene for Eliza's ending (triggering it is pretty straightforward) and I did some miscellaneous stuff (mostly chapter 6 work, and lots of bugfixes). Testers had some personal issues so not all of them got to test stuff, but I think we have most things covered, and the others will come back to me when they can.

In case you don't follow the development updates, I'll also mention it here, but starting next month we are getting more art commissions (7 each month for Caliross, 3 for TOTDC 2 for those interested). If you were thinking of increasing your support, now would be the time. Word of mouth is also greatly appreciated, so make sure to embarrass yourself and bring up my adult game to your friends and family whenever you can (or on forums, if you really want to keep a social life).

Having said that, here is the current update:

EDIT: Ooops! Forgot the changelog:

Royal library added;

quest with the Spider lady (the quest is short, but it has enough sexy content to make up for it, I think);

bonus scene for Eliza's ending;

1 new scene if your "slut reputation" is high enough ("rough guy" at the slums' entrance, during daytime);

And here is the bugfix list:

Fixed an issue with the mail script, incorrectly resetting or in specific cases not sending a letter from Carl (for the model job);

Fixed issue in the slave path where the masochist trait wouldn't reset correctly if you didn't have it before the path;

Fixed issue in the slave path where you could sometimes see copies of Han during the intro;

Fixed issue when your body measurements didn't properly reset after the ponygirl path (the actual variables did reset correctly, but not the entries in your personal page);

Fixed "Quest for Glory" not rewarding the promised 2000 G;

Fixed black screen during lap dance scene with Kira;

Fixed certain CGs with Ginnuk not showing as well as incorrectly unlocking some of Edith's CG during Ginnuk's scene;

It still surprises me how many small and big issues are left in the game, but that's the nature of programming in general, I think.

Next month will be another "let's try to add as many quests as possible" situation, with some sexy stuff sprinkled here and there. More details in the next dev blog.

This should be all. Let me know if you encounter any issues, and I hope you enjoy the update. Until next time! ^_^

Lunaraia

how do you trigger the new spider lady stuff? I ca't seem to puzzle it out XD

mdqp

After you have visited the temple a second time (and got the vision with her), you must learn more about the topic, by visiting the royal library (to unlock the library, you must speak with the emperor and have a good relationship with him OR be a concubine OR solve the quest for the smuggled mana crystals). From there, it should be easier to figure it out.

Lunaraia

Makes sense, now I just need to figure out how to either befriend mr Empy or trigger said smuggling quest XD

mdqp

Just join the dark path and enter the harem. :^ Befriending him might be a little hard (relationship points are still a bit tight in the current version). For the quest, if you talk to the Emperor in chapter 4 (if I remember correctly), he mentions something about it, and going to the slums at night should then trigger a cutscene where you see Gaspar talking to a suspicious guy.

Lunaraia

A VERY slight bug in the spider lady quest. the chalice in the kitchen isn't glowing, making it easy to miss unless you like me and obsessively check every square for hidden goodies.

mdqp

Oh really? I thought I made it shine on and off. Regardless, if it's really hard to notice, I can use the usual "constant" sparkling.

Lunaraia

It might have blinked , but if it did, I didn't notice it.

Onedrift

Love the Eliza addition, makes it feel even more "perfect" in that twisted way.

Micro

Can't wait for more of the Kairos storyline.

Bug report for you: when the Spider Lady quest prompts you to search for a library in the second scene, it unlocks looking for a coach to the Palace immediately, skipping a few bits of "Turning Over a New Leaf." I'm not sure exactly how much was skipped, though for me I couldn't fix up the town after fixing the Lighthouse and the "Turning Over a New Leaf" quest cannot complete. It also skipped over Keiko talking about the emperor wanting to see you, though the conversation with the emperor worked fine.

mdqp

The option to buy the carriage becomes available as soon as you can talk to Keiko inside her room (the first dialogue you get with her there mentions the carriage, assuming you don't have other important dialogues lined up, like expanding the city or preparing the party), do you mean something else with "looking for a coach to the palace"? Also, what do you mean with "couldn't fix the town"? Is it that the option didn't show up when talking to Keiko, or after picking the option it didn't get fixed (it takes a few days in-game to happen)?

Linarion

Oh, didn't realize that. Regardless, taking the coach early did skip over Keiko asking you to go see the emperor for a progress report on Golden Leaf and did cause some dialogue discontinuity as the dialogue assumes you know he wanted to see you. And by "Fix the Town" I mean the option you get to clean up the buildings and what not (costs 5000 gold). The roads and mansion are already fixed, but I never got that option. I assumed it was related, but maybe not. I didn't use the miner for the lighthouse job, so maybe that was it (as it seems according to the walkthrough that the lighthouse is required before that option is available)?

mdqp

Mmmh, I wonder what went wrong. In theory, you can't get the option to buy the carriage without seeing the dialogue first (even if there are other dialogues before, they get "queued" until all the announcements from her played, plus the option itself is blocked if for some reason it doesn't play). I'll ask testers to keep an eye out, in case it happens to them as well. Under "Tell me more about Golden Leaf" There is no "Tell me more about the repairs"? The walkthrough is a bit messy in that section (the lighthouse and the city repairs are completely independent).

Linarion

There is no "Tell me more about the repairs," though there might have been at some point. I don't have a save from before-hand and maybe I selected options strangely. I had a lot of money, so I might have started the road repairs before selecting some other options and that somehow closed off something else? I'm not sure.

mdqp

I guess a quick way to check if it worked is to go to sleep for 3-4 days, and then checking the wall around the city entrance. If there are no cracks or other damage, then maybe you picked the repairs already without noticing.

Linarion

Ah. I think that was correct. I must have done so by accident. I had been thinking that the Tavern and the other buildings would have their cracks repaired to show it worked, but that must have been me misremembering from past playthroughs. Sorry to bother you on that one.

mdqp

It's all good. I did find a minor bug while investigating these things, and the tavern crack was also a bug (it becomes smaller after the repairs, but it should just disappear EDIT: Sorry, I meant when the prosperity goes up). I don't really play the game all that much, so players letting me know things is important, and it might also bring up issues like text being confusing or unclear, even when no bug was found. ^_^

RedRanger10

Thank you for using my suggestion. If I wasn't looking for a new job I'd up my amount so you could more easily fund a image for it.

mdqp

I am a little unsure if how I introduce the scene is good enough, but I didn't want to invest too much time on a bonus scene. I hope the scene was fun, regardless. Maybe I'll get a few more supporters to offset the recent increase in commissions, that would be cool. :)

Warend92

How can i get to the harem path ?

mdqp

First, you must become a noble (check "The Prodigal Son" in the walkthrough, if you haven't finished that quest yet), then at the castle, you must meet with a Priestess of Santhora (she wears a white tunic). She should give you some more details, but you'll have to go back to visit her in chapter 3 (after buying a carriage so you can go to and from the castle whenever you want), to get the path started and join the Emperor's harem. Let me know if you need something more specific. :)

RedRanger10

One more question, I was visiting the spider lady and when it said research are you supposed to go to the library and research? if so what is the correct key word?

mdqp

The idea is correct, but you currently must use the royal library (you don't have to guess the word). I should probably add a research topic to the basic library anyway, leading players to search for a better library.

RedRanger10

Thanks for clearing that up. I've never gotten access to the library. How do you get it?

mdqp

I added it very recently. Talk to the Emperor, and the option to talk about the library should be there. If you are either part of the Harem, have a high enough relationship with him, or completed the quest about the smuggled mana crystals, you should be allowed access. You must then take the stairs to get there (the same ones to reach the wizard's room or Nimedes's quarters).
