Sales Tax Update (Patreon)

This week patrons will be receiving notifications from Patreon about how they are now legally required to charge sales tax with pledges, and will be starting that July 1st. If you don't receive notification of this, or have further questions about it, Patreon has posted a FAQ  here. It's geared towards creators, but has a lot of good info all Patreon users can benefit from!It sucks that there's no opt-out for this change, like there has been with previous Patreon updates. Fortunately, Patreon is also helping creators be able to modify their reward tiers to minimize the sales tax charged to patrons. I'll be reviewing and updating the tiers this month for that purpose.
