Hello world!

After a ton of learning, tinkering, and testing, I’m thrilled to finally share something I’ve been quietly building in the background: a fully interactive webmap for Waterdeep. This is the same map I've been working on, now polished, searchable, layered, and labelled.

You can toggle locations by type (taverns, guildhalls, temples, etc.), search for named spots, and see what ties into my available battlemaps. It’s meant to make exploration and worldbuilding feel smooth and immersive.

This is just the beginning. The map will continue to evolve in the coming months, with features like a distance/time calculator, grid overlays for quick battlemap creation, expanded data and search, and more on the horizon. Let me know if there is something you'd like to see.

As a side note, this also marks the launch of my new website. As Patrons, you will see familiar maps and content; Patreon will still be my main platform and the first to get new content! My website is designed to make navigating my work and discovering what's available easier.

Thank you, truly, for continuing to support my work. This map exists because of your enthusiasm, feedback, and generous backing. I hope it makes your games richer and your prep lighter.

A special thanks to Browncoast Jayson, jkat718, DrWifi, and hannaHJ for the early testing and awesome feedback!

Oh man no way, this is AWESOME! Interactive Maps like these are incredibly useful. I am so glad you added this functionality to yours since the previous Interactive map was great but so low res. What a great idea! I'll definitely be putting this to good use 🙏

Incredible map, such a good resource!!

Dude, Mind: Blown. This is wonderful. This'll be a favorited resource indefinitely for me....

Oh my god... You have outdone yourself. Literally... The full map was impressive enough. This is amazing. I'm currently running a homebrew campaign in Waterdeep... And have been using an interactive Waterdeep map constantly. It's very helpful. But this is so much better than that one. I seriously cannot thank you enough.

This is really cool. I have spent like the last 20-30 minutes just scrolling this map and I am loving it! I like that so many of the pins link to their forgotten realms wiki page. that is super helpful in learning about a specific place if it catches my eye. And I really enjoy scrolling in and being able to see the street names of smaller streets and alleys. It really makes the city feel alive to me. I've edited this comment like two times already, but that's because I am loving this interactive map so much and keep finding new things I like about it.

This is amazing! I've been using the one at aidedd.org for about a year now, but yours blows it out of the park in both detail, visuals, mechanics, and ease of navigation. Yeah, that's just about everything LOL! I also absolutely love that there's even links to your battlemaps when possible. The one and only thing I'd change is add a distance/time feature if possible so we can see how far/how long it'd take to get from place to place. Again though, this is absolutely amazing and will definitely be my go-to!

I'm afraid that when I click the link, all that I get is the legend and an otherwise blank screen.

Incredible! I just want to say, if you added absolutely nothing, this resource is webpage you have created is still one of the best and most impressive DnD resources I've seen. That being said, since you asked for suggestions, the ability to have a moveable token or two would turn this 11/10 project into a 12/10 in my eyes. Just to make it easy for tracking party/character locations in this mega city you have made.

Tych Maps

Thank you! That is something I've been looking at a bit already; should be doable within the mapbox framework!

Hmm. Any adblocks or aggressive permission controls running? What browser?

Tych Maps

Thank you! Distance/time is on the roadmap for sure. Hopefully very soon

This is extremely cool, I love it! (and so do my players). Excellent resource! One thing one of my players picked up, is that the map misses any tags for Phaulkonmere Villa. The villa is on the map, just south of Kolat Towers, but it isn't tagged. In W:DH, it's the headquarters of the Emerald Enclave in Waterdeep. Maybe also make the garden (inside the walls) more green or yellow, like most other villas?

Your map is working fine on my iPad and iPhone, but it’s not working on my laptop which runs Windows 10 and I’m using Google. I’m not aware of any aggressive ad blocker operating on my laptop.

This is an excellent piece of work - thank you so much - glad I joined earlier today. To what extent can I show this to my players (no need yet ... I am still at the planning and mapping phase and (oh god next) the Roll20 lighting phase.) They would love to have this as some sort of side resource during games

Tych Maps

I think the biggest risk for spoilers/player interaction is that everything links out to my battlemaps for locations. So a player could easily click the link and see the full layout of a dungeon/house/etc. Some people have just used the static image in something like Roll20 and only revealed locations/added them to the map when their players discover them.

I’ve come to your patron from Oneiropolis. Glad that I did. The Waterdeep interactive is particularly great to have, and looking forward to Baldur’s Gate content too. I see you’re a fellow Canadian. (I live in California, but was in Van for 4 years.). Cheers.
