DIA. I haven't written those letters in a while! If you are running the adventure as written, your players will head to Candlekeep and need to gain access via the front gates. Once inside...well...we'll see what happens.

If you haven't guessed by now, I'm the type of person who does all the side quests and then FINALLY gets around to the main story line of video games. My question to you, dear patron, is how big should this side quest be? Just the front gates and move on? The Court of Air? Or a year-long diversion to mapping Candlekeep in meticulous detail (please, no!)

I absolutely love the artwork for Candlekeep that is included in Descent into Avernus. The front gate in particular has way more character than the official Candlekeep map (the Mike Schley perspective map), and I think fits the overall feel of Candlekeep more. So, I aimed to map it as such. What we are left with is 5 levels of map, towering to the highest peak above the center of the gate.
