Elturel High District - Forgotten Realms (All Tiers) (Patreon)

This map is part of the Elturel City Map - Forgotten Realms project.

For the complete map and full set of files:

Rising high above the rest of the city on a bluff overlooking the River Chionthar sits Elturel's High District, and at it's forefront, the High Hall. The district is built of stone with winding cobbled streets and balconied, narrow houses. Stretching away from the High Hall, "like the blade of a naked sword" as Elminster puts it, lies the garden.

This is the "Forgotten Realms" version of Elturel.

The Avernus version will be coming in the future as we descend into the Planescape and continue Descent into Avernus.

Let's talk scale for a minute (my favourite topic (/s) as it's always a clusterf*ck). I am very hesitant to put a scale on this map as...it just doesn't fit. I referenced 2 different maps primarily when working on my version: the 2e map from Forgotten Realms Adventures (TSR02106) and the Avernus Elturel map by Jared Blando in DIA. If you open the Avernus map up in Roll20, it's sized at 3825x2720 grid cells (19125x13600ft). I did some alternative scaling based off the High Hall battlemap cross-referenced on both maps (=2140x2234 grid cells) and using Torms Bridge (100ft) as a measuring stick (=4704x3344gc). All told, it just seems too big, regardless of how I measured it - it's larger than Baldur's Gate despite, having way fewer buildings.

If (and that's a big if, I don't recommend it), you decide to use the map with this approximate scaling, my High District comes in at 1215x1570.

As this map is a work in progress (likely 4 releases total for completion), I've only exported a few file types:

jpg & png @ 10px per grid cell **see note above about scale

png @ 20px per grid cell **

My thanks to Jared Blando for his excellent Avernus version of the map which was invaluable in the making of this version.
